The 2026 CJCR (Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers) Photo Contest is here! It's run by the CJCR Group, and this year's theme is "Impact in Action." They want to see the moments that make the Cadet Program special.

Have you captured a great moment at training, band practice, a field training exercise (FTX) or a community event? Look for photos that show:

⭐ Personal growth

Think of a cadet helping a teammate, learning a new skill, or making a difference in the community.

Saturday evening at Camp Manitou! 😄

Big smiles, group photos by the tents and plenty of good vibes. Later, everyone formed up as the sun went down. Sunday morning came around fast: one last morning at camp, and then it was all aboard the bus!

Saturday in the field at Camp Manitou! 🍂

Striking a pose with staff, circling up, gathering around the fire pit and taking a breather on the grass: our cadets made the most of a beautiful fall day at the 2026 Fall FTX. Later in the afternoon, everyone fell in by the flagpole.

Building more than shelters. 🏕️

Saturday at our 2026 Fall FTX at Camp Manitou started with a pile of poles and canvas on the grass. Piece by piece, our cadets put the frame together, pulled the canvas over and lifted it into place as a team.

But they were building a lot more than shelters. Shoulder to shoulder, they were building friendships, skills, teamwork, confidence, resilience and leadership. And by evening, the big tent was full: everyone together in front of the big screen. Building memories, too. ⭐

🇨🇦 End of the day at the Fall FTX.

As the sun goes down, the flag is lowered to mark the close of the training day at Camp Manitou. But the night is far from over! Evenings on an FTX usually mean supper, time around the campfire, and getting kit squared away before lights out. 🔥🌙

Saturday afternoon at the Fall FTX, Camp Manitou! 🍁

Our cadets were out in the crisp fall air: circling up with staff, doing rope work, and getting hands-on with a camp lantern.

And then, a lunchtime surprise… the food trucks rolled in! That's one perk of a camp that's out in the country but still easy to get to: the food trucks can come to you. No MREs (Meals, Ready-to-Eat) today! 🍔 Burgers, hot dogs, a topping bar… and even an ice cream truck!

A big thank-you to O.G. Catering / Fire Queen Food Catering for the delicious food and the smiles.
