Re: Potential Bus Transportation Cancellations
Dear Parents and Guardians:

Over the past few years, I have written to parents to note that we are facing shortages in staffing, and in particular, bus drivers. We are again experiencing a driver shortage, potentially leaving us unable to run our current transportation system.

On some days, our Transportation Manager is driving a bus just to keep all our runs operating. Until this situation improves, it is possible that we may have to cancel certain bus runs from time to time as a temporary functional cancellation. Should this occur, you will receive an early morning email to that effect with information on the nature of the cancellation. Please note, we will try to prioritize our long runs as the most critical to maintain. We understand that this is a potentially upsetting event, creating uncertainty and inconvenience, and we are working to improve this situation.

We are actively recruiting bus drivers on an ongoing basis. If you know anyone who is interested in this sort of work, either regular or casual, please ask them to apply for a rewarding position with us! https://www.makeafuture.ca/bc-schools-and-districts/mission/

Stave Falls has had a community association for a very long time, is there a need for a new one? Should the SGCA remain? How do you think the SGCA could operate going forward if it doesn’t dissolve? If the SGCA doesn’t dissolve what should we do with the money?
