Camp Whonnock The Camp includes a main lodge, 7 cabins, fire circle and shelter, wooded tent sites with fire-pit, trails, and canoes for use on one of many nearby lakes.

MAIN LODGE – It includes a main hall with fireplace, industrial kitchen, downstairs rooms (great for indoor sleepovers), washroom facilities with showers, and a covered deck that runs the length of the building. There are several indoor folding tables and chairs (accommodates ~150 people), as well as outdoor tables and chairs on the covered deck. CABINS – There are 7 cabins with 4 bunks each, accommodating 8 people per cabin (56 between all 7); there is also space in the field for tents if needed. The cabins have electricity but are not heated. TENT SITES – There is a wooded area with space to accommodate 10-13 tents. There is also a fire-pit. FIRE CIRCLE – A large fire circle and shelter is available for rent. Firewood is provided. TRAIL – There is a trail traversing the backwoods behind the camp. There are also thousands of acres of woodland across the street with plenty of trails to keep any Scout Group busy!

Today the camp volunteers were busy at the the camp today.
Paul got the new light at the east side bridge. Brad got the Archery wall bracing on last week. Brad and with help got the majority of the fire wood moved to the new wood shed on the east side area. The drainage on the east side that crosses the trail is in and covered. The east side shelter got well deserved sweep out. Oh and we moved one of the porta potti’s from the outback to the lower parking lot, the other one will be moved next week and we I’ll continue clean up around the camp.

Please be advised the West side fire pit is closed due to construction the west side has to fire pits. Also the Bridge over the creek is closed to vehicle traffic, pedestrians are ok.

Weekends are for camping! 🏕️⚜️

There’s something special about spending a weekend at Camp Whonnock. Setting up camp, exploring the trails, learning new skills, sharing meals, gathering around the campfire, and making memories with your Scout family.

At Camp Whonnock, the adventure doesn’t have to wait for summer. Every weekend is another opportunity to get outside, challenge yourself, and enjoy the Scouting experience. 🌲🔥

Well the the camp volunteers were back in the camp today. With Mike, Chris and Dave cleaning up wind debris and burning it in the Out Back sites. Dennis was digging up a storm for new drainage lines, with Brad and Paul laying the drain lines and keeping the gravity drain good. Norm was busy doing decorating in the Wolf Den. Me I made lunch I’m on a no work order from the Dr. and the wife.
This was a great day

We are looking for a really good price (donated would be better) on fifty plus sheets of plywood, 1/2”- 5/8” 4’ x 8’.

Good Afternoon Campers.
Well the Campboard volunteers were out at the camp on Wednesday and surprisingly got a lot done. Norm was busy making forms for Brads concrete pore followed by adding slats to the NEW shed the Camp Elves built. Mean while Brad and Blair were busy doing a concrete pour for the wind reinforcement for the archery wall. Dennis did a bit of leveling around the archery area and Eastside fire pit the continued to excavate around the Westside fire pit area and start clearing for NEW tenting sites ne’er the swale. A great days work Gentlemen.
