Just so every one knows, Scouter David and his sons have manufactured 25 NEW benches for the campfire seating for three campfire areas. There are still 7 seven waiting on materials. This was a great project Scoter David.

Here is what the camp volunteers did on Wednesday. The rubber cladding is up on the archery back stop. Thanks to the following team.
Jim, Blair, Chris, Dennis, Derek. A job Well Done. If you’re wondering about the roof that happens Friday I’m told.

Well the Camp volunteers will be back in the camp on Wednesday now that the camp will be empty. A few things are in action on Wednesday the Rubber backing mats for the Archery are going up. Thank You to North West Rubber (Vicky)in Abbotsford for your donation to the Camp. Hopefully the roof over the archery back stop will be on. I’d like to thank Den’s Gardening (Dennis) for supplying a chipper to the camp on Wednesday also. Going to be a busy day. I haven’t been to the Camp since Thursday but I hear there’s been some projects completed over the week end, I’ll post those next week.

Well the camp crew won’t be at the camp this week, we’ve got a movie production crew renting the camp for filming. Instead some of the crew will be out picking up Rubber decking to use as padding for the archery range. I’ll put up more pictures next week.

🏕️ Camp season is almost here at Camp Whonnock, and we’re getting ready for another summer filled with adventure, hiking, campfires, learning, and unforgettable memories in the outdoors. 🌲🥾🔥

As we prepare for camps and outdoor activities, it’s also a great reminder of something every Scout can practice: Leave No Trace. 💚

🌿 Travel and camp on durable surfaces
🗑️ Dispose of waste properly
🍃 Leave what you find
🔥 Minimize campfire impacts
🦌 Respect wildlife
🤝 Be considerate of others enjoying nature

These principles help protect the outdoors so future generations can continue to explore, learn, and enjoy the beauty of nature through Scouting.

Thank you to World Scouting for sharing this important reminder as camp season begins around the world. ⚜️

Every year, hundreds of thousands of Scouts head outdoors for camps, hikes, expeditions, and adventures. 🏕️

Camp season is beginning again, and many of us will soon be back in the outdoors with Scouts, some as leaders, some as volunteers, and many supporting from afar. 🥾

It’s worth revisiting a simple standard that underpins every good outdoor experience: Leave No Trace.

Travel and camp on durable surfaces. Dispose of waste properly. Leave what you find. Minimise campfire impacts. Respect wildlife. Be considerate of other visitors. 💜

These principles are a mindset that helps ensure the outdoors stays open, healthy, and meaningful for the next generation.

Let’s set the example all year round. ⚜️

Explore Maple Ridge one bite and one pedal at a time 🚲🍓

Bike & Bites returns on June 27 for a guided cycling experience that combines scenic trails, local flavours, and some of Maple Ridge's favourite destinations.

In partnership with Into Into The Wild Tours, this unique event takes participants on a leisurely ride through parks, trails, and local businesses while enjoying bite-sized samples and experiences along the way.

This year's route includes:
📍 Memorial Peace Park
🍺 The Patch Brewery
🌿 Jerry Sulina Park D**e Trails
🥪 Maple Ridge Park (featuring bites from Humble Roots Cafe & Deli)
🌊 Kingfishers Waterfront Bar & Grill

Participants will collect stamps throughout the journey for a chance to win a prize draw at the final stop.
