What happens when the party bus visits with the Men’s Shed - chaos ensues
This week Sandi brought the Party Bus and 20+ seniors to the Alouette Men’s Shed to build bird houses.
The bird houses were pre cut and pre drilled but even so it was fun to watch the various combinations that were produced - we even had one house that had an in and out door
Thank you to the Ridge Church for being understanding with having extra guests in the conference room

We have some very talented men in our workshop
Recently we were asked by another "Not For Profit" in Maple Ridge if we could construct a puzzle for their Public Activities this summer.
Have a look at the wonderful vertical puzzle that has been prepared by Bob, Jim and a few others who worked hard at making sure that the pieces all fit perfectly before we let it out the door.
Watch for this masterpiece whenever you are out and about in Maple Ridge this summer.

Spring has Sprung - The Grass has Rize !!!
Now is the time to think about planting and planter boxes for the Summer.
We have a number of planter boxes that are left over from last year's production run, and we would like to Blow them out before we start on some new items for this year.
The planters are all 48 to 52 inches long with a 12-inch-deep box.
Ideal size for a small garden or patio.
Blow Out Pricing is $40 -no matter of the size.

This week 6 of our members attended a workshop on how to properly use a router.
In other words - Router 101 for beginners
Pat Taylor allowed us into his own workshop and put on a very professional instructional program which was an eye opener for anyone that had not used a router before

Today we privileged to be asked to attend the winter craft market at Community Services there was a steady crowd of families and children through the day
By the looks of the size of the silent auction- Community Services has tremendous support within the community
Thank you for allowing us to be a part this wonderful event
And to make it extra special Santa made a surprise visit and made a point of stopping by the Alouette Men’s Shed booth

The Alouette Men's Shed "Movember" Project is well underway and has exceeded our original goal of $500 that we set as our donation for this project.
" Movember" connects very well with many of our members as it promotes research on Prostate and Testicular Cancer which is very near and dear to many men of our age group.
The "Movember" movement ties in very well with the Men's Shed movement as it promotes men's mental and physical wellbeing.
One of our members, Sam, came up with the idea of building bird houses that had a whimsical look of an old man and then to sell them to support the cause.
At this time, we have built and sold over 40 bird houses and still have a few more to go.
We have been at a couple of craft markets and wellness fairs, and we have come home empty handed - meaning that we have sold out.
If anyone else would like to support our efforts, you can always stop by our workshop on Tuesday and Thursday at the Ridge Church or we will be at one more craft market at Community Services Craft Fair in Maple Ridge next Saturday.
