Hey everyone!

Our staff room microwave at St Josephs Food Bank gave up on us, and our team is currently in need of a working, clean countertop microwave.

If you have an extra one sitting around in your garage or storage that you no longer need (or are looking to rehome), please let me know or send me a DM! We would be more than happy to receive it!

Thank you so much in advance! 🙏✨

A huge thank you to Karl for his generous donation of chips from his vending machine business to St Josephs Food Bank! 🥔✨
When you're not doing comedy, Karl, you're still able to deliver a great crunchline for the clients of the Food Bank. 😉
Thank you for thinking of the Mission Community and adding variety and fun to their palates!

A massive thank you to everyone at the Dakinava Buddhist Educational and Cultural Society for their generous donation to St Josephs Food Bank!
Through the wonderful support of local temple donors, a dedicated community of Buddhist monastics has contributed 1,500 lbs of rice, along with essential school snacks and other much-needed goods, to help stock our shelves.

This beautiful act of kindness truly embodies the monastic community's deep commitment to peace, compassion, and mindful giving.

In Canadian communities, neighbours looking out for neighbours with open hearts is what keeps us strong. Their peaceful presence and generous spirit remind us all how much impact we can make when we come together to care for one another.

Big thanks to the incredible team at Centrix Control Solutions in Port Coquitlam! 🍁

We are absolutely blown away by the generosity of this independent Canadian company. Even though they are a tight-knit team of just 14 employees, they have spent the last year saving a portion of their individual paycheques every single month to give back to the community. When it came time to choose a charity, they selected St Josephs Food Bank right here in Mission to receive their incredible donation!

When they aren't busy being community heroes, the dynamic team at Centrix Control Solutions specializes in advanced control, measurement, and automation solutions. They are the trusted experts who keep Western Canada’s heavy industrial and municipal sectors running reliably—proving that you don't have to be a massive corporation to make a massive impact.

Thank you, Centrix, for your inspiring behaviour and for helping us feed local families! 🙏❤️

🧡 Today, September 30th, is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

It’s a day to reflect on the history of residential schools, honour the survivors, and think about how we can all move forward together in a positive way.
At the St. Joseph Food Bank, we believe that supporting our neighbours is a big part of that journey. We are proud to stand with and support our local Indigenous community by focusing on:

• Nutritious Food: Providing fresh, healthy options in our food hampers.

• A Welcoming Space: Making sure our doors are open to everyone with a safe, respectful, and barrier-free environment.

• Listening & Learning: Partnering with local leaders to ensure we are truly meeting the needs of Indigenous families.

Every child matters.

Here is a write up from theMission Record -

"The debut performance from the Abby Mission Rock Choir has yielded positive results for the wider community.
The new choir had its first show on Sept. 22 with a sellout at the Clarke Theatre in Mission. All proceeds went to St Joseph’s Food Bank – almost $12,000.The Abby Mission Rock Choirr launched in the spring, bringing together singers in a rock ensemble supported by a live band.
The choir is part of a growing network of non-auditioned rock choirs across the province designed to be inclusive and accessible for adult singers of all experience levels.
Proceeds from end-of-season concerts for each choir go to local charities. Last year, all performing choirs raised $93,639.
The choir is still welcoming new members, especially in the bass section. Registration, along with more information about the choir can be found at www.abbymissionrockchoir.com."
