It's Thanksgiving but that doesn't mean rescue stops. The pleas for help don't stop. The care for the cats already here doesn't stop. The vet bills don't stop!
We have been hit hard with no less than 7 medical cases in a short time and we are struggling 🥺 Our emergency funds are depleted and winter is just around the corner. We hate to ask for help but we really need help from our cat loving community!!🙏🙏🙏
Frankie, who came to us with a broken jaw was back at the vet college for some tests on his enlarged glands and also had the sutures on his chin redone. While we are thankful to say his bill was nearly in the clear, this extra visit added up 🥺and his current bill is $370 . Frankie is with his fosters in Saskatoon Michelle Lorraine and Gordon. He is healing and doing really well 🥰
Lyra nearly died from an asthma attack and needed to be rushed in on emerg. Lyra was kept on oxygen over night and put on multiple drugs. SHE MADE IT!! Lyra has now graduated to a 2 x a day puffer. She also has an emergency puffer in case another attack should happen. She is a sweet shy girl but has adjusted to the changes well. Her vet care, medications/puffers totals $1,230.
Falco was found in a ditch, discarded like piece of trash.😭😢. He had been neutered and declawed so he obviously belonged to someone at some point. It breaks our hearts that he was was just thrown out like garbage on the side of the road.😭
Falco was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and put on meds right away. He is a bag of bones 😢 and still struggling to gain weight. He has developed some fluid in his abdomen and needed further testing to determine what treatment will be needed. Falco is now at the vet college in Saskatoon since this past Friday. His current bill is at $755 for what was done here in town and charges continue to grow at the college while they run tests to determine what is needed to help him. Falco is a sweet boy who deserved so much more from this life. Please help us help him 🙏
Dookie is another medical mystery. He is a sweet cuddly little guy but suffers from a bad bowel. F***s build up and are unable to be pushed out, causing his re**um to bulge unnaturally...and sometimes drip p**p... 😟. The idea of megacolon has been mentioned and x-rays have been done but further diagnostics are needed to confirm his condition and get him started on the treatment he needs. Dookies total cost before xrays are $305 . xrays will add on another few hundred (we haven't got that bill yet)
Dookie has a referral to the vet college in Saskatoon, where they have better diagnostics and he can get the help he needs. He's just a baby. He deserves a chance 🙏🥺
Last but not least, we lost Hope. She is gone but not forgotten. A cat that left us unexpectedly within only hours of getting to the vet. Everything was done to try to save her, but she just wasn't meant to be. She was hypoglycemic and it was just too late. Our hearts are broken but the vet bill of $602 still needs to be paid. We wish we had found her sooner...the 'what ifs' always hurt the heart 💔
This Thanksgiving we challenge you to stand with us and help these poor forgotten cats. These sweet babies were purrrfect 10's when they came into this world so we are making a $10 challenge we hope you can participate in!
We know times are tough, but we also know our rescue community is tougher and together we can do this!
