June is Men's Mental Health Month 💙

Mental health affects everyone, and men deserve support, understanding, and a safe space to talk about what they're going through. Too often, struggles are carried in silence. This month, let's remind the men in our lives that it's okay to ask for help, open up, and prioritize their well-being.

You don't have to carry everything alone.

If you or someone you know could benefit from support, our team is here to help.

June is National Indigenous History Month! A time to honour the rich history, cultural knowledge, and enduring strength of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples across Turtle Island.

This month invites all of us to learn more, listen deeply, and reflect on the histories and contributions of Indigenous peoples - not only in the past, but in the present and future of these lands.

Let this be a time of celebration, remembrance, and recommitment to truth and reconciliation.

We especially invite you to mark June 21 - National Indigenous Peoples Day - with ceremony, learning, and solidarity

Saskatchewan parents - if you receive this survey in the mail, before you fill it out (and please do take the time to fill it out and send back) we ask you to think about this..

We’ve connected with thousands of youth across this province about tech and here’s what the KIDS have told us...

1. Social media and YouTube are not safe or appropriate for youth (even the teens have told us this) 91% agree that the tech companies do not do enough to keep them safe or censor harmful content.

2. Elementary kids ages 6-12 tell us the two places where they experience the most harm and see the most violent and explicit content is YouTube and Roblox. Many of them have already been exposed to online luring and predators. (Ps - there are 500,000 predators online daily in the same spaces as our children)

3. Kids hide tech harms from their parents because they don’t want to lose access to these spaces.

4. Social media is impacting their mental health in negative ways. They feel a very strong pull to not being able to stay off of their devices. They feel the pressure. It’s affecting their sleep, focus, confidence, ability to connect and find joy.

5. When we ask the teens if they were parents (knowing what they know), would they give their own children under the age of 16 access to social media or a smartphone? The answer, without hesitation is.. No.

We challenge you to reframe this and not look at it as a ban, but as holding these companies accountable. This is about protecting our children from spaces that were never designed for them and requiring the billion dollar companies who profit off of them to be held accountable for harming children.

Countries all over the world are being led by research and experts to rethink our global and societal acceptance of social media and digital spaces like YouTube and Roblox for youth under 16.

We 100% support this step toward protecting youth from harmful tech products.

For the record - Meta was just found LIABLE for the harm their products caused young users in the state of New Mexico and in a California lawsuit.

If these companies cannot ensure these spaces are safe from predators, harmful and addictive content, then they should not be permitted to profit off of young users.
