The Saskatchewan Senior Fitness Association's mission is to improve the total well-being of Saskatchewan Seniors through participation in regular physical activities, cultural activities, social activities, and intellectual activities. The SSFA was born on December 19, 1984, with just a handful of members. The first games were established in 1988, being held in Melville with only a few handfuls of
dedicated athletes. Turn the clock to 2022 when more than 600 athletes competed in the SSFA 55+ Games held for the first time since 1990 in our city—Prince Albert. Did you know…
…that the Lakeland region finished the 2022 games with a total of 57 medals—31 of them gold? Did you know…
…that Team Saskatchewan always finishes strong at the Canadian 55+ Games? In 2022, Saskatchewan sent 266 athletes to Kamloops, winning 113 medals—44 of them gold! As an association, we continue to hold many events throughout the year within our 8 provincial districts. It is very easy to become an active member—call your local district or fill out a membership form. Send it in and you will automatically become a member! SSFA operates with funding from Saskatchewan Lotteries and district fund-raising endeavors.
