Last week, PHSS had a great time connecting with students and job seekers at the Fanshawe College Job Fair! 👋

Job fairs like this are such a valuable opportunity to meet potential new staff, have conversations about the work we do, and connect with people who are interested in building a career with PHSS.

We always enjoy meeting new faces, answering questions, and sharing what it’s like to be part of the PHSS team.

💚 October 6 is World Cerebral Palsy Day.

Today is an opportunity to celebrate the voices and experiences of people living with cerebral palsy, while continuing to advocate for greater accessibility, inclusion and opportunity.

Cerebral palsy is a neurological condition that can affect movement, muscle control, balance and coordination.

Every person’s experience with cerebral palsy is unique. Meaningful inclusion starts with listening to those lived experiences, recognizing barriers and working together to create communities where everyone has the opportunity to participate, contribute and belong.

Another summer of fishing is in the books! 🎣

Over the past couple weeks, Community Place North hosted their annual Fishing Derby, wrapping up a summer spent fishing with some friendly competition.

On Monday, everyone gathered for a BBQ lunch to celebrate the end of the derby and announce this year’s winner.

A great way to close out another summer of fishing at Eco Park.

Today is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a day to honour the children who never returned home, Survivors of residential schools, and their families and communities.

It is a day to acknowledge the painful truths and lasting impacts of the residential school system, while recognizing that reconciliation is an ongoing responsibility. It calls on all of us to listen, learn, reflect, and continue building a deeper understanding of the histories, experiences, cultures, and voices of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.

Today, members of the PHSS community are wearing orange as a sign of respect and remembrance, and to stand with the message that Every Child Matters. 🧡

There is still much to listen to, understand, and carry forward.

We’re proud to share that PHSS Support Services was recognized by Innovate Council Canada at last week’s London Innovate Council meeting for our work in innovation and digital transformation.

Innovate Council Canada brings together leaders from government, industry, and community organizations to share ideas and advance innovation across Canada.

At PHSS, innovation is about reimagining how we work, challenging traditional approaches, and finding practical ways to create meaningful impact. That includes reducing administrative burden, creating more capacity, and turning more administrative time into frontline hours with the people we support.

Thank you to Innovate Council Canada for the recognition, and to everyone at PHSS who continues to bring ideas forward and help shape what comes next.

🥊 What a night at Showdown in the Downtown - London, on!

We had such a great time being part of this incredible event on Saturday. It was amazing to see so many people come together for a fun night, all while supporting organizations in our community.

PHSS is incredibly grateful to be one of the non-profits chosen to receive proceeds from this event. ❤️

A huge thank you to the Showdown in the Downtown team, sponsors, participants and everyone who helped make the night such a success. We’re so proud to have been part of it!
