When Amanda Eskanasi addressed the London Jewish Community during our Yom HaShoah Commemoration, many attendees wanted to learn more from her; the insights she offered regarding the media coverage around antisemitism and antizionism, and the widespread and "acceptable" biases in language choice and presentation struck a chord. She has so much more to teach...

Tradition… Tradition! Shoutout to everyone who joined us for a quick getaway from London to Toronto to see Fiddler on the Roof with the Harold Green Jewish Theatre Company. It was a great performance and a fun and memorable day. To life, to life, l’chaim!

Our Executive Director, Dean Lavi spoke with CBC about Prime Minister Carney’s recent statement on antisemitism and what it means for Jewish communities across Canada.

Recognition matters, but it cannot be the end point. Jewish communities do not need another diagnosis. We need action. Government security funding is important, but the gap remains significant, especially for smaller communities like ours. No community should have to choose between supporting seniors, feeding people in need, educating children, and installing smash proof window film to keep attackers from coming through the door.

Antisemitism is not only a Jewish issue. It is a Canadian issue. The time for serious action is now.

The London Jewish community is coming together.

Thank you to Noah Shack, CEO of CIJA for stopping by the JCC and encouraging our community to join us this Monday evening for a powerful security fundraiser event with the Honourable Harry LaForme.

Justice LaForme is one of Canada’s most respected legal and Indigenous leaders. A member of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, he was the first Indigenous person appointed to an appellate court in Canadian history and has spent his career advancing justice, human rights, and reconciliation.

He has also become an important voice in the fight against antisemitism, speaking with moral clarity about Jewish peoplehood, Indigenous history, and the importance of standing against hate.

Join us this Monday at the JCC for an important evening in support of security across London’s Jewish community.

RSVP today through Jewish London.

On Wed., June 17, we'll have an opportunity to learn best practices from our security director, Avner Isaac.
