We had a great turnout for our Standing Together Against Hate event!

This past Saturday we marked five years since the Islamophobic attack on the Afzaal family in London, Ontario. This event was about honouring their memory, but it was also about asking what communities are still experiencing five years later. The release of the 2025 Snapshot of Hate in Waterloo Region is released because remembrance needs to be paired with accountability, data, and action.

We thank all those who came out to remember Our London Family and support our Anti-Hate services.

The work doesn't end here. We continue to provide our vital reporting hate services that need your help more than ever! At this point, there is no guarantee that the Anti-Hate services program will continue after June 30th due to funding. We need your help to make sure we can continue! If you can, please consider donating via our website: https://centreformutualwellbeing.org/get-involved/donation/

Thank you ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’›

Today marks 5 years since the attack on the Afzaal family in London, ON.

We are taking a moment today to remember June 6, 2021, and the tragedy that took four members of the Afzaal family's lives.

Today, we honour the memory of Salman, Madiha, Yumna, and Talat. We also keep the surviving members of the family, and all those affected by this tragedy, in our thoughts and prayers.

If you are able, wear a ribbon of green and purple in remembrance ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’š
