✨Be the ONE! ✨

✔️The ONE who gives a meal.
✔️ The ONE who makes room to learn and connect.
✔️ The ONE who shows students they BELONG!

It may be JUST ONE MEAL, but it could also be life-changing!

As one Grade 1 student put it, “Food tastes better when you eat it with friends.” And we agree! It’s just ONE reason Nutrition for Learning believes that food feeds a sense of belonging. Because being nourished at school means everyone can imagine, explore, and connect...together!

Just ONE donation of $25 can provide ONE meal for ONE student every school day for ONE month — this, my friends, is the power of ONE. Or 10X the impact by becoming a monthly donor and feed ONE student for the whole year.

As we kick off the 2026-2027 school year today, this is your call to Be the ONE!

Calling all community-builders and food equity champions! 💚💚 Are you a foodie? Love hospitality and creating warm, engaging experiences? We’re looking for team players with flexibility during school day hours to be our very first FOOD FOR ALL AMBASSADORS! 🥬🥕🍳

You don’t need to be a chef but you do need to love working with and being around kids, getting creative, and helping host dynamic and inclusive opportunities for students to connect. You feel pretty comfortable chopping, prepping, and coordinating in a busy environment.

This is an amazing part time job for parents, recent grads, semi-retired folks, and anyone who wants to invest 20-30 hours weekly into transforming Waterloo Region school food experiences with us.

Nutrition for Learning is BEYOND thrilled and unbelievably grateful to announce that we are the recipients of a Grow grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation! This 3-year grant in the amount of $596,700 will go directly to our revolutionary "Food for All" Pilot, officially launching in Fall 2026.

On June 18, we were joined by nearly 200 community members to celebrate the announcement during our first-ever Day of Belonging at Steckle Heritage Farm, supported by our amazing friends at AirBoss of America!

We'd like to sincerely thank Kitchener South-Hespeler MPP Jess Dixon for helping us share this incredible news, alongside our Waterloo Region District School Board and Waterloo Catholic District School Board partners represented by Superintendents Gerald Foran and Jay Fedosoff. The ongoing support of MPP Dixon, Gerald, Jay and the teams at WRDSB and WCDSB is a shining example of what true partnership looks like! We cannot wait to bring this pilot to life together.

Beginning in the 2026-2027 school year, the team at Nutrition for Learning will be piloting a weekly “Food for All” service at 20 schools in Cambridge and Kitchener featuring fresh, colourful, Ontario produce-rich — creating opportunities for students to share meals together, build lifelong food skills, and strengthen their connection to local food systems, while supporting our local economy and provincial agriculture.

"School food is an investment in the future excellence of our communities, nourishing the next generation’s potential....This is a moment to think differently about what school food can be." -Erin Moraghan, CEO at N4L

Nutrition is the foundation; community is the result. 🥣✨

True community happens when local schools support one another. Our team recently hosted a Yogurt Parfait social at Lincoln Heights, powered by the student leaders from Choose2Lead.

These high school volunteers prepped and served nutritious food while acting as mentors, reassuring younger students about the upcoming move to high school. It’s amazing what can be achieved when we combine proper nutrition with student-led mentorship. 🍎💪

Because of the incredible support from Tim Hortons staff, customers, volunteers, and our community, participating Tim Hortons locations across the region raised an amazing $383,502.80 during this year’s Smile Cookie Week.⠀

3 charities. 2 dollars. 1 community showing up in a big way.⠀

Thank you for supporting Nutrition for Learning, the Cambridge Food Bank, and KidsAbility, and for helping make this year’s campaign such a meaningful success.⠀
