Because of the incredible support from Tim Hortons staff, customers, volunteers, and our community, participating Tim Hortons locations across the region raised an amazing $383,502.80 during this year’s Smile Cookie Week.⠀

3 charities. 2 dollars. 1 community showing up in a big way.⠀

Thank you for supporting Nutrition for Learning, the Cambridge Food Bank, and KidsAbility, and for helping make this year’s campaign such a meaningful success.⠀

We are delighted to welcome Erin Moraghan, CEO of Nutrition for Learning, as one of our speakers at Women United’s Steeped in Strength High Tea.

Erin is a passionate community leader dedicated to supporting the health and well-being of children and families in Waterloo Region. Through her work, she has helped expand access to nutritious food in schools, ensuring students are set up for success each day. A strong advocate for collaboration and grassroots impact, Erin is deeply involved across the community—bringing people, partners, and purpose together. She believes that “community is medicine,” and her work reflects that every day.

We are proud to share that proceeds from our last event in October supported both Nutrition for Learning and Food4Kids Waterloo Region—organizations creating meaningful change for local children and families.

🎉Let's revisit some highlights from 2025 together! 🎉

December is not only a time to look forward to what's coming, but it's a time to look back and reflect on the past year.

When we speak about "program scale-up" we're not always talking about just adding MORE food to the menu at schools. Often, our goal is to elevate the experience of school meals for the students, and this includes a variety of hot meal stations. Schools throughout the region are adding hot soup lunches, hot oatmeal breakfasts and other interactive food stations to their weekly offerings.

When students sit together and share a hot meal, it's more than just a "snack on the go". They are having a shared experience; they are making connections and building new friendships. They are learning what it's like to be in community. This is nourishment! Mind, body and community.

A meal isn't just a meal when it's shared with friends.

In 2026, Nutrition for Learning is focusing on elevating the school food experience of all students in the region!

And your donations made this possible. Your donations help provide nourishing meals every single day to the future leaders of our community, country and world! Thank for you making our work possible!
