What does the Food for All pilot program look like in action? Lately, we're noticing that at the end of a meal, it looks like a cleared plate! This chickpea cauliflower curry community meal at one of our pilot schools in Cambridge was a big hit. Thank you, Glenview Park Secondary School culinary students, for preparing this lovely hot meal for our elementary school students.⁠

One parent said, "I just wanted to say how much they loved the food and the experience! They both said the food was 'really good' and that they ate it all and that they loved trying the food with their class. They asked when their school can have it for lunch again!"⁠

We loved hearing not only that students loved the food, but they loved trying it with their class — food is definitely more fun with friends! Food connects us, and food in school says we all BELONG.⁠

"This apple is so fresh! Did you pick it right from a tree?" is a question a student asked our Nutrition for Learning staff at a meal event at one of our Food for All pilot schools recently. And it couldn't make us happier! We love seeing students enjoying fresh, wholesome foods in school. 🍎⁠

This school year, thanks to 3-year seed funding from , we have launched the Food for All pilot program in 12 schools in Waterloo Region. These schools receive elevated meal experiences, featuring fresh, Ontario-produced food. Through these programs, we are reimagining what food in schools could look like in the future!⁠

These community meals don't just nourish students; they help connect. Because food in school says we all BELONG. ⁠

Thank you, Stoidi Group, for the incredibly generous donation of $18,500 to Nutrition for Learning! In September, Stoidi held a charity golf tournament, where they raised funds for several charities. We were honoured to be one of the recipients.⁠

Nutrition for Learning was honoured to attend Centre for Mutual Wellbeing Radiant Ladies Night. What a lovely event, highlighting the organization's critical work to provide culturally responsive support, transitional housing, advocacy, and anti-hate services for racialized communities across the Waterloo Region.⁠
