At St. Mary's church, we believe we are all part of one family and deserve the same quality food. Mary's Tiny Home Takeout. Everyone is welcome!

That is why, from our home in downtown Kitchener, we've launched St. Calzone's and Daily Bites will be served from the takeout window of the Tiny Home in front of the church from Tuesday to Saturday from 5 to 630 p.m. Whether you're living on the street, squeezing your grocery budget to pay the bills, or living a middle-class life, Tiny Home Takeout is happy to feed you and your family. We believe that everyone in our downtown community has the right to great food, cooked with care and served with dignity, regardless of economic standing. To make this vision a reality, St Mary's has invested in a full commercial kitchen, hired Chef Amy Cyr, and installed a Tiny Home in front of the church to make the food accessible to all. Donations are welcome, but not expected. If you can afford to contribute when you pick up your dinner, we will have a debit machine in the Tiny Home window. All donations are appreciated and will help us continue to prepare quality food. Whether you can contribute or not, every dinner you have from the St. Mary's Tiny Home Takeout project supports this work - because it means you are sharing a meal with different people from across the city. We've updated our Always-On Calzone Menu with some new features, and today marks the debut of our November Calzone of the Month! 🎉

As we roll out the new menu, we're asking for a little extra kindness and patience as everyone gets settled into the changes. We're excited to bring you some new favourites and appreciate you growing along with us!

A little kindness goes a long way -- and Sir Edgar Bauer students proved just how far it can go! ❤️

Last week, we welcomed these incredible students to the Tiny Home Takeout Experience, and they brought so much kindness, enthusiasm, and joy into our kitchen! From jumping in and getting hands-on to embracing what it means to put faith into action, they reminded us that making a difference starts with a willing heart.

And they didn’t stop there! 🫶 As a class, they raised over $100 to donate to THT, turning what they learned into meaningful action for their community. What an incredible example of compassion in action!

To the students and educators of Sir Edgar Bauer: thank you for being so kind, inspiring, and genuinely fun to spend the day with. We loved having you with us, and we hope you left knowing that even the smallest acts of service can make a big difference. 💙

🚨 THERE'S A NEW FACE AROUND THT ... 🧸💙

You may have spotted a new member hanging around the kitchen, making friends with the team, and fitting right in with the THT Crew.

He's already been making the rounds, meeting our volunteers, and getting comfortable in his new home. There's just one little detail we haven't figured out yet... WHAT SHOULD WE CALL HIM?!

We need your help naming our giant teddy bear mascot! Drop your BEST ideas in the comments below -- the funnier, cuter or more creative, the better!!

🥧 A little slice of community, with a whole lot of heart! 💙

Our Thanksgiving Pie Sale was a sweet success! 🍂 From our Dutch apple pies to our cherry and pumpkin pies, our community showed up in a big way to support Tiny Home Takeout. In fact, our pumpkin pies were such a hit that we sold out after Saturday evening Mass! 🧡

Behind every pie was a little extra love and the generosity of our community partners. A huge thank you to Johnson Farms for the apples, Fresh Central Market for the cherries, Martin’s Apple Farm for supplying apples for our regular service, and GT French for the pie plates and Ziploc bags. Your support helped make this fundraiser possible!

Together, we made 139 Dutch apple pies and 7 cherry pies, with pumpkin pies freshly baked just in time for the Thanksgiving weekend. 🥧

To everyone who purchased a pie, lent a hand, or helped spread the word: thank you! Your support helps us continue providing accessible meals and building a community rooted in dignity, compassion, and care.

Faith in action starts with showing up for others. ❤️

This week’s THT Experience students rolled up their sleeves and jumped right into what it means to put faith into action. Through hands-on learning in the kitchen and working together to prepare meals for our community, they saw firsthand that service is about so much more than what we make -- it’s about who we make it for.

Every calzone, every helping hand, and every moment of teamwork is a reminder that small acts of kindness can have a lasting impact. When we bring faith, compassion, and a willingness to serve into everything we do, we create something truly meaningful. 💙

To this week’s students: thank you for bringing your energy, enthusiasm, and hearts to THT. You remind us that putting faith into action doesn’t have to be complicated -- sometimes, it starts with simply showing up, lending a hand, and caring for the people around us.

💙💙 Everyone deserves a Thanksgiving dinner. No exceptions 💙💙

This past Saturday, we served Thanksgiving dinner to 300+ people in our community -- 300+ reminders that behind every meal is a person, a story, and a need to feel cared for.

Thanksgiving is about more than what’s on the table. It’s about coming together, making room for one another, and ensuring everyone has the opportunity to experience the warmth and comfort of a shared meal. Because food is more than nourishment. It’s connection. It’s dignity. It’s belonging.

At Tiny Home Takeout, we believe no one should have to go without a meal, especially during a season centred on gratitude and togetherness. We’re incredibly grateful to every volunteer, donor, and supporter who helps us turn that belief into action.

This Thanksgiving, as you gather around your table, we invite you to hold space for those who may not have one of their own. May we continue to show up for one another, share what we can, and build a community where everyone has a place at the table.
