This week marked the start of the 2026 season for the Georgina Dragon Boat Club as we officially returned to the water for our first practices in Keswick and on the Holland River.

We also held our first recreational team practice in Holland Landing — an exciting milestone for the club. With both new and returning paddlers on the water, the week was filled with teamwork, energy, and a great start to the season.

Registration is now open for Keswick Leisure Block 2, as well as Holland Landing Block 1 and Block 2. Spots are filling up and registration closes soon, so be sure to secure your place on the water!

We are looking forward to an amazing year ahead on the water!

This weekend, Coaches Faye and Justin are in Owen Sound supporting the Sea Cadets during SIDC weekend.

A huge thank you to Alkame Dragon Boat Services for partnering with us and providing the boats for this year’s event. Their support is helping make this an incredible experience for the cadets.

By the end of the weekend, we expect to get nearly 200 kids out in the boats and introduce them to the sport of dragon boating, along with the teamwork, leadership, and confidence it builds.

The Georgina Dragon Boat Club completed the 17km journey from Keswick to the Holland River. A huge thank you to the York Regional Police Marine Unit for the surprise es**rt from the Maskinonge all the way to our docks in Holland Landing — with their support, we were able to safely adjust our route and cross the lake instead of following the shoreline.

Shoutout to our amazing crew of 16 paddlers and 2 coaches/steers who made this journey possible. Your effort, teamwork, and spirit made it a day to remember!

This Sunday, May 3rd, the Georgina Dragon Boat Club will be paddling Legacy, one of our dragon boats, on a 17km journey from Keswick to the Holland River!

We are excited to have our first full season on the Holland River and look forward to many great paddles ahead. Legacy will be making the trip while Bemise Ajidamoo remains on the Maskinonge to serve our Keswick teams. Spirit of the Lake will also soon return to the Maskinonge after some repairs.

The Georgina Dragon Boat Club is now welcoming new and returning members to our Recreational, Leisure, and Youth teams in both Keswick and Holland Landing. Each program offers a structured and engaging way to get active, connect with others, and experience the sport of dragon boating.

With just 14 days until we return to the water, the season is quickly approaching and preparations are well underway. This is a great opportunity to be part of a positive community, build new skills, and enjoy time on the water.

Thank You, Keswick!

Our first-ever Fill a Dragon Boat Food Drive was a huge success — and it’s all thanks to you!

We are incredibly grateful to the Keswick community for showing up in such a big way. Whether you donated food, gave cash, stopped to learn more, or simply shared a kind word — your support truly meant everything. Seeing so many people come together with generosity and community spirit made this event so special, and the impact will be felt by local families in need.

All donations collected will be dropped off at the Georgina Food Pantry, where they will go directly toward supporting families in our community.

A big thank you to Zehrs Keswick and Fred’s Towing for helping make this event possible, and for supporting us every step of the way.

We also want to give a special thank you to our coaches for coordinating and organizing this event, and to our club members who volunteered their time and energy throughout the day. Your dedication and teamwork made this all happen.

Giving back to our community is at the heart of what we do, and this was an incredible example of what we can achieve together.
