I feel it’s important to speak up during this incredibly difficult time in my life.
I am currently facing allegations that I maintain are false, and I am fighting them through the proper legal process. Because there is a publication ban in place, I am not permitted to speak about certain details or identify anyone involved, and I will continue to respect those legal boundaries.
What I can say—clearly and without hesitation—is that I am innocent. In Canada, every person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. That principle exists for a reason: to ensure fairness, truth, and justice prevail over assumptions and public pressure.
Over the course of this situation, I have been subjected to an overwhelming amount of online hate, harassment, and threats. I have been told to harm myself, threatened with violence, and dehumanized in ways no one should ever experience. This has taken a very real and serious toll on my mental health.
I am also a member of the LGBTQ+ community. I identify as they/them/she. Some of the comments and attacks I’ve received have gone beyond me as an individual and have targeted the community as a whole. That kind of rhetoric is not only harmful—it undermines the progress, understanding, and acceptance that so many have worked hard to build. It is unacceptable.
I understand that people may form opinions based on what they see or hear, but I am asking for fairness and humanity. There is always more to the story than what is made public, especially when legal restrictions limit what can be shared.
I am trusting the legal system to do its job, and I will continue to stand strong in my truth as I work to clear my name. Until then, I ask for patience, respect, and an end to the harassment.
Thank you to those who continue to support me and stand by me during this time.
