Honour. Remember. Reflect.

As we approach Veterans’ Week and Remembrance Day, we invite you to visit any of our Library branches from October 27 to November 11 to place a Poppy of Remembrance.

You’re welcome to write the name of a loved one who has served or is currently serving in the Canadian Armed Forces, or share a few words of gratitude and appreciation for those who have served.

Remembering Our Veterans: A Special Guest Talk

Join us at the Branch as we welcome Sgt. (Ret’d) Robert “Bob” George, MStJ, CD, a 20-year veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces who completed three overseas tours.

Bob will share his experiences as a Peacekeeper, his work commemorating Simcoe County’s veterans at Peacekeepers Park in Angus, and his perspective on why it’s so important to continue honouring and remembering those who have served.

My name is Karlene Doyle and I am the Poppy Admin for Branch 547 Innisfil Poppy Campaign.🌺🌺

I am a Legion Volunteer and If you ask me why I took on this task it is because I am Proud to carry on the memory of my Grandpa Sydney Young who was a Soldier in WW1, but as well I do this for all those who have served or are still serving.

Please support your Legion 🇨🇦with wearing a Poppy 🌺 in Remembrance of these Veterans, but as well if you can spare 1-2 hrs to participate in our Poppy tagging 🌺 that would so help us to raise funds for our Poppy Fund. We welcome as well students who need hours.
