The Strike is over at Surrette Battery, in Springhill, NS. IBEW 625 members from Unit 4 have voted 76% to accept the company's last offer. With this, we have made gains and have a better agreement. It has been a very difficult time for everyone. Thank-you everyone for enduring a lockout, for walking the picket lines in the heat, and standing strong in solidarity with one another.

Thank-you to the residents of Springhill who came out to support our workers on the picket lines.

Today we discovered that the management at Surrette Battery has locked its employees out. IBEW 625 is prepared to strike. Our date was set to commence on July 6th, 2026 but today is our first day of Picket Lines. Our union members are braving the heat today to show management that our workers deserve better.
