Today kicks off Nature on the Hill! This annual event organized by Canada gets the nation's nature leaders in meetings with MPs and cabinet members to remind our elected officials that a Canada worth building puts nature up front. Our Executive Director Vanessa Roy-McDougall is in Ottawa taking meetings to learn more about Parliament's current plans for nature. Stay tuned to hear who she meets with this week!

Are you interested in native plants? Planting them, growing them and incorporating them into your conservation efforts in your community? So are we and thus have spent the last year trying to make local native plants an accessible reality in New Brunswick!

Thanks to funding from WWF-Canada and the Government of New Brunswick, Nature NB and the NBEN RENB were able to host a series of gatherings for native plant enthusiast invested in habitat restoration, horticulture, urban ecosystems and more. Throughout these four workshops, we were able to tease out community priorities and start gathering information on the needs and resources of New Brunswick partners. As we start forming an action plan, and working towards better access to Native plants in this province, we’d like to hear from more of you!

Les plantes indigènes vous intéressent-elles? Que ce soit pour les planter, les cultiver ou les intégrer à vos efforts de conservation au sein de votre communauté? Nous aussi, et nous avons passé l’année dernière à essayer de rendre les plantes indigènes locales accessibles au Nouveau-Brunswick!

Grâce au financement du WWF-Canada et du gouvernement du Nouveau-Brunswick, Nature NB et le RENB ont pu organiser une série de rencontres destinées aux passionnés de plantes indigènes engagés dans la restauration des habitats, l’horticulture, les écosystèmes urbains et bien plus encore. Au cours de ces quatre ateliers, nous avons pu cerner les priorités de la collectivité, recueillir des renseignements pour dresser une carte des ressources et des besoins du Nouveau-Brunswick, et commencer à élaborer un plan d’action visant à améliorer l’accès aux plantes indigènes dans cette province.

THIS WEEKEND! As if there's not enough to be thankful about when it comes to the long weekend in October, here's one more reason! On Saturday, October 10 from 11am-2pm, visit the Beaver Pond Trail at Mactaquac Provincial Park for a nature walk, guided by activity stations along the trail.

CE FIN DE SEMAINE ! S’il n’y avait pas déjà assez de raisons d’être reconnaissant pour la fin de semaine prolongée d’octobre, en voici une de plus! Le samedi 10 octobre, de 11 h à 14 h, rendez-vous au sentier de l'étang aux castors, dans le parc provincial Mactaquac, pour une promenade dans la nature guidée par des stations d’activités le long du sentier.
