Last week we opened our doors to several members of K9s4PTSD, a local organization created by and for individuals suffering from PTSD or mobility who seek to self-train Service Dogs!

The group seeks to allow individuals to regain freedom and independence in their lives with the help of their furry friends; with the ultimate goal of helping their dogs reach the Canadian standard for Public Access and Service Dog Certification.

To help desensitize the dogs the new settings, they were welcomed into the theatre and given a special tour of the space, all while potentially distracting sound effects played.

Everyone deserves to experience the magic of live performance; thats why accessibility is always at the top of our minds when it comes to our venue and performances.

We’re committed to making our theatre as welcoming and accessible as possible through features like accessible parking, ramped entrances, automatic doors, wheelchair and transfer seating, assistive listening devices, and volunteer ushers available to help throughout your visit.

However, making sure everyone feels welcome at the Playhouse is an ongoing process. We’re always learning, listening, and looking for ways to improve the experience for all patrons. If there’s something we could do better, or a way we can better support your visit, we’d love to hear from you!
