There’s a new community garden sprouting up in Eastern Passage! 🪴❤️

This Month on Voices Amplified: Eastern Passaged Food Security Society and Ocean View Manor are teaming up to create a community garden that will provide fresh produce for the Eastern Passage Community Fridge, bring seniors, youth, and families together, and help build a stronger, healthier Eastern Passage!

What a year for eastern passage summer carnival! Our residents were able to take in many festivities thanks to the support of staff, family, and volunteers!

UPDATE 2 - The repair has been completed. Water services are slowly being restored to the area. Customers in the area may experience discoloured water following this repair. It is recommended that those customers run the COLD water at one faucet until the water runs clear. Traffic control personnel are still on-site with stop-and-go traffic in the work zone.

UPDATE 1 - Halifax Water is asking residents to reduce water consumption as crews prepare to repair a water main. Conserving water will help maintain system pressure and support repair efforts while the work is underway. Please minimize use of running water, flushing toilets, or doing laundry during this time.

Water Service & Traffic Advisory – Main Road – Water Main Repair

Halifax Water crews are on-site undertaking an emergency water main repair near 1377 Main Road, Eastern Passage. As a result, water service will be temporarily shut down in the area. This will impact a large portion of the Eastern Passage community. No estimate of service restoration time.

There will be stop-and-go traffic in the work zone. Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to manage traffic flows.

Customers in the area may experience discoloured water during/following this repair. It is recommended that those customers run the COLD water at one faucet until the water runs clear. To learn more about discoloured water and to report it, please visit www.halifaxwater.ca/discoloured-water.

Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.

We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure repair work may cause.

To ensure the safety of our communities and our staff, please maintain a safe distance when Halifax Water staff or contractors are working in your area.
