The days are counting down 🕚

Help us grow our garden and vote for our video! 💚

🌳🍓 We have another opportunity to grow our garden with the Ocean View Community — but we need YOU! 💚

We are incredibly grateful for the $4,500 we have already received from Scott’s Gro for Good, which has helped us make meaningful progress in growing our garden and creating a beautiful space for our community.

Now, we have the chance to receive another $2,000 to help take our garden even further! 🌱
And this is where YOU can help! 🙌

You can submit ONE entry every day, so please take a moment each day to cast your vote to support our community. Every entry brings us one step closer to reaching our goal! 🍓🥕🌿

💚 Vote once a day. Share with your friends and family. Help us spread the word!
Together, we can grow something truly special for our community. 🌱

The more we grow, the more we can nourish our community and help lessen food insecurity, one garden, one harvest, and one neighbour at a time! 🌳🍓

❤️ Help Dean Help Feed Our Community! ❤️

We want to take a moment to recognize someone who continues to show up for our community in such a meaningful way — Dean Arbuckle

Dean is once again walking to raise funds for the Eastern Passage Food Security Society Community Fridge, and his support means more than we can put into words. His generosity has helped put food on the tables of countless families and individuals in our community, and he continues to be an incredible leader.

Now, he’s putting in the miles to help keep our Community Fridge stocked and accessible to anyone who needs it. 👟❤️

If you’re able, please consider supporting Dean’s fundraiser. Every donation helps. And if donating isn’t possible right now, sharing this post and the fundraiser is just as valuable — you never know who might see it and be able to help.

Thank you, Dean, for always choosing to give back and for reminding us what community looks like. ❤️

We are so grateful for our community! Go check out The Pop-Up Thrift Co. 💛

A new thrift store in Eastern Passage, N.S., known as Pop-Up Thrift Co., has been opened by three sisters and is giving back to the community.

The store is run by three sisters, Rachel Romkey, Jami Sutton, and Nicole Fellows, who wanted to bring something new to the area. Their thrift store was built on the belief that everyone deserves access to affordable items.

Co-founder Rachel Romkey shared that, as a single mother of two kids, she understands the challenges of rising prices. They have tried to price everything as low and fairly as possible at the thrift store. While the thrift store was officially launched last month, it had been growing and running from a garbage bag to a closed-in trailer before the store opened.

Romkey says, apart from clothes, the thrift store features many other treasures, such as household items, books, and VHS tapes for families searching for a bit of nostalgia. The children of the three sisters are also involved in running the thrift store, as they help organize donations and put clothes out on the floor.

A portion of the proceeds from the thrift store sales goes back into the community. While the three sisters have been donating to the Eastern Passage Community Fridge for the past few months, they hope to expand support to other organizations across Halifax Regional Municipality as the business grows.
