June 21 is the 30th anniversary of National Indigenous Peoples Day. Today, we recognize National Indigenous Peoples Day and celebrate the rich cultures,
histories and contributions of First Nations, Mi’kmaq, Inuit and Métis peoples.
It is also a time to reflect, listen, learn, and honour the strength and resilience of
Indigenous communities.

We acknowledge the importance of continued understanding, respect and meaningful action toward reconciliation.

Together, we can build stronger relationships and a more inclusive community for
everyone.

The Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) will be conducting a flyby for the Canada Sail Grand Prix on June 20, 2026, over the Halifax Harbour Front on Lower Water Street. A CH-148 Cyclone from 12 Wing Shearwater will be entering and exiting the area between 4:00 and 5:30 p.m.

RCAF aircraft flybys are carefully planned and closely controlled for public safety. The aircraft will be at an altitude no lower than 500 feet above the highest obstacle over ground level. Aircraft participation is subject to weather and operational requirements.
