SAVE THE DATE for a festive day of local shopping, community connection, and holiday cheer at The Makings of Me (MoM) Society’s Holiday Artisan Market!

This thoughtfully curated market brings together local artisans, hobbyists, makers, and small businesses — offering unique, handmade, and small-batch goods you won’t find in big-box stores.

Whether you’re getting a head start on your holiday shopping, searching for something special for a hard-to-buy-for person, treating yourself, or simply looking to spend the day supporting local, there will be plenty to discover! 🎁

The Makings of Me Society is a local, community-based nonprofit focused on connection, inclusion, and support.

💙👿💚 Supporting Island View High School’s Europe 2027 Students
The MoM Society is excited to welcome the Island View High School Europe 2027 students and their families, who will be hosting the canteen and 50/50 draw during the market!

In March 2027, these students will be travelling to Europe for the experience of a lifetime — an incredible opportunity to explore new places, experience different cultures, learn beyond the classroom, and create memories they’ll carry with them for years to come. 🌍✈️

Proceeds from the canteen and 50/50 will help support the students as they prepare for their trip, so be sure to stop by for a snack, grab a 50/50 ticket, and help send our local students on an unforgettable adventure!

My sincerest appreciation to everyone who has helped move the 7th Annual Adopt-a-Grad Campaign forward! 💙

Whether you've made a donation, sponsored a graduate, shared a post, tagged a friend, reached out to your employer, encouraged a local business to get involved, or simply helped spread the word—you are making a difference, and I am so incredibly grateful.

We're now approximately 80% of the way to our $3,500 fundraising goal! 🎉

For the past seven years, our community has continued to show up for the
graduates of Island View High School in the most incredible ways. Because of your generosity, encouragement, and community spirit, we've been able to create meaningful traditions and memorable celebrations that recognize graduates as they reach one of life's biggest milestones.

🚨 IMPORTANT UPDATE: BENEFIT AUCTION FOR RICKEY LEE & FAMILY
Since this event was first announced, Rickey and his family have received confirmation of what had previously only been suspected: Rickey has been diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), a progressive and terminal neurological disease.
Those who know Rickey know that he would never ask for help unless it was truly needed.
A lifelong member of the Eastern Passage community, Rickey has spent more than a decade battling serious health issues. Over the past year, his condition has declined rapidly, affecting his mobility, independence, speech, and ability to perform everyday tasks. Following extensive testing, specialist appointments, multiple MRIs, the discovery of an inoperable brain tumor, and neurological assessments, the diagnosis of ALS has now provided answers no family ever hoped to receive.

As Rickey's condition progresses, the family's needs continue to grow.
Accessibility modifications to their home, specialized mobility equipment, transportation needs, and ongoing medical-related expenses are becoming increasingly necessary. At the same time, Justina has stepped into the role of full-time caregiver while continuing to care for their family and navigate her own health challenges.

This benefit auction is about more than meeting Rickey's immediate needs. It is about helping Rickey, Justina, and their sons navigate the financial, emotional, and practical realities that come with an ALS diagnosis, while allowing them to focus on what matters most during this difficult time.
