How many eagles can you find at the Cole Harbour Heritage Park?
Answer three, Yes 3.
Bald Eagle - our variety here has the white head that extends almost to the shoulders. If you see these in the US. Well they were transported there to rebuild the Bald Eagle population down south. The pesticides - killed off a great many of the American Bald Eagles. They only had the white head.

Then we have the Golden Eagles, usually mistaken for immature Bald Eagles. I find them massive and have nothing immature about them.

We also get the Stellar's Sea Eagle - not common but lovely to see them from time to time. Also have the best majestic soaring flight of our eagles.
IMO anyway.

While e-scooters and scooters are not regulated to be on the trails in Cole Harbour's Heritage Park.

The Province and Halifax have finally past some much needed regulations.

Kids under 14 are now banned from e-bikes and e-scooters in Nova Scotia

If your child is under 14, they can no longer legally ride an e-bike in Nova Scotia. The rule kicked in Monday, Oct. 19, along with the rest of the province’s new Traffic Safety Act and the regulations that go with it.

E-scooters already had a minimum age of 14. The new Using the Road Regulations bring e-bikes up to the same age, and they make the adults involved responsible too.

Under the province’s new penalty table, a parent or guardian who allows or knowingly permits a child under 14 to ride an e-bike faces a fine of up to $100. The bike’s owner faces the same. For e-scooters, the child, the parent or guardian, and the scooter’s owner can each be fined up to $100. Court costs and surcharges are extra.

Nova Scotia's new traffic rules bar kids under 14 from e-bikes as well as e-scooters, with fines of up to $100 for parents and owners who allow it.

These two hikers found a book in the “forest” this week and were pretty excited about it! You never know what treasure you will find in our parks and trails. The joys of our little library.

Thanks Andrew! and Hike NS!

Cole Harbour Salt Marsh for a time stood the Halifax County Poor Farm, a place where the sick and poor were hidden away from sight. Andrew visits the marsh on this episode.
