Easy Trail

The Digby area welcomed 170 hikers from across Canada to the Hike Nova Scotia Summit this past weekend. It was a celebration of hikes, workshops, local adventures, good food, and even some dancing!

We were thrilled that our trail system played such a big part in the weekend. Visitors explored the Gone with the Wind Trail, learned about our forest restoration projects, took in the view from the lookoff, and joined a spooky evening walk learning about Mi’kmaw stories of the stars. And did the stars ever show up!

Thank you to all the hikers who chose to explore our trails. We hope you’ll return to discover even more of what this beautiful area has to offer.

To the volunteers who brought this fabulous event to life: thank you for your time, energy, and love for our community. And thank you to Hike Nova Scotia for trusting Digby to host such a spectacular weekend!

With the windmills now gone, it’s time for the Windmill Wilderness Trail to get a new name too. After putting the call out for your ideas, we’re excited to introduce…

The Easy Trail has been widened and extended by another 900 feet, with fresh gravel laid to create an even more enjoyable path. We’re excited to keep improving the trails and making it easier for more people to get outside and enjoy Van Tassel Lake. Come check out the new section!

Please be aware that access to the trail parking lot is currently blocked due to a truck off the road.
