A very worthwhile event for those in first response to consider attending.
Helping The Helpers is October 24 this year, consider asking a couple of collegues to attend together. Hear from those who have been impacted and what they did to work toward optimum health.

Maybe you are in an officer or lead position, it's good to recognise the signs and symptoms of stress injury.
Spread the word.

Workers’ right to strike is essential to fair wages, safe working conditions, and strong collective bargaining.

Bill C-39 raises serious concerns about the federal government’s ability to intervene in legal strikes and the impact this could have on workers’ rights across Canada.

IUOE Local 727 encourages members to take action and make their voices heard. Send a letter to your Member of Parliament calling on the federal government to protect the right to strike.

It only takes a few minutes. A letter is already drafted for you!

IUOE Local 727 extends our deepest condolences following the tragic loss of Latitude Air Ambulance’s Heartbeat 104.

We mourn the loss of the two pilots, two medical crew members, the patient, and their family es**rt who were aboard the aircraft.

As a union representing paramedics and emergency medical professionals, this tragedy hits particularly close to home. Those who work in emergency medical services understand the responsibility that comes with caring for patients during some of the most critical and vulnerable moments of their lives.

The medical crew and pilots aboard Heartbeat 104 were carrying out that mission when their lives were tragically lost.

Our thoughts are with their families, friends and colleagues, and with the entire Latitude Air Ambulance team during what is an unimaginable time.

From all of us at IUOE Local 727, we stand in solidarity with the air ambulance and emergency services community as they mourn this tremendous loss.

May all six rest in peace, and may their service and lives never be forgotten. 🕊️

Today, IUOE Local 727 remembers the children who never returned home, honours Survivors, and recognizes the lasting impact of residential schools on Indigenous families, communities, and generations across Canada.

Here in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people, we recognize that reconciliation begins with understanding the history of the land we live and work on and listening to the voices and experiences of Indigenous peoples.

As a union, we believe reconciliation requires more than remembrance. It calls on all of us to learn, reflect, speak up, and take meaningful action. Together, we can help build a future grounded in respect, understanding, and reconciliation.
