What started as a temporary one-year position has turned into something we’re so happy to celebrate... 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙞𝙨 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙪𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝙖 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙛𝙪𝙡𝙡-𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙧𝙤𝙡𝙚!❤️

She brings a real passion for local food, community and connection, and those values fit so perfectly with who we are at the Cranbrook Food Bank.

Heather is kind, creative, passionate, and deeply committed to helping others, and has a quirky sense of humour that seems to show up exactly when you need a laugh. 😂

The Food Bank will be closed Monday, Sept 7th for the Labour Day long weekend 🍎

Good morning Cranbrook!

🎉THE POWER IS ON!!!🥳

At 11:28pm our power came back on. Grateful to all the crews who worked so hard to restore power to all customers affected.

☝️Please note that our internet is still down. We hope to have this issue resolved today.

📞With no internet, this means we only have one phone working with one phone line. Wait times will be longer than usual.

Good evening Cranbrook. The food bank along with 560 other customers have been affected by a power outage today.

We are hopeful power will be restored soon and are grateful to all the crews who have been working so hard today.

If the outage continues longer than expected, we may have to close tomorrow.

We will update when we know more.

Once again, thank you to the crews working so hard to restore power...we so appreciate you!

We are experiencing system wide issues with our internet today. We have one back up phone working and will be doing things the old fashioned way with pencil and paper until we get this issue resolved.

Last week, as we were returning from the Resilience Centre in Wasa after supporting wildfire evacuees, we came back to a wonderful surprise.

The amazing team at Scott Wills Tree Service, working with TELUS, had taken care of the two trees on our property that had become a safety concern.

We know there were different opinions about whether these trees needed to come down, and we respect that. For us, this was about doing our part to keep our community fire smart, protect nearby power and communication lines, and help reduce potential risks.

We are incredibly grateful to Telus for this generous gift. But their kindness extends far beyond our food bank; they have also committed $𝟮 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 to support emergency wildfire relief efforts across British Columbia.

To everyone at TELUS, thank you for caring not only for our organization but for the many communities and families whose lives have been turned upside down by these devastating wildfires. Your generosity, compassion, and commitment to community mean more than words can express. ❤️
