🐾INTRO TO AGILITY LESSONS🐾

🗓 Saturdays, October 24-December 5 (no class on November 28)
🕑 11:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
📍 "The Bunker" (8465 Buchanan Rd, Coldstream)
💲 $82.50 for members; $180.00 for non-members

Does your dog love to run and jump? Do they climb on logs or run between trees? Maybe you need something fun to do together? Why not try our "Intro to Agility" course?!

In this course, you will learn the basic skills to teach your dog how to jump over jumps and through a hoop (tire). You will also learn the foundations for running on the dog walk, A-frame, and teeter by walking on and stopping at the end of planks and inclined boards.

Most work in this course is done on leash and there is no dog-dog meeting or contact. This course is a pre-req to being able to attend open practice sessions at Dog'O'Pogo and any future agility lessons.

It's okay if you are unsure if actual agility trials (competitions) are for you. This course is about building connection with your dog and playing! And, who knows, you may meet all the cool people at Dog'O'Pogo and decide that dog agility trials are your new home away from home!

Are you looking to boost your hoopers confidence and teamwork? Dog’O’Pogo will be hosting a clinic with coach Jane Beddard. All levels are welcome!

💲 Dog’O’Pogo Members: $60 for working spot, $25 for audit spot. Non-Members: $80 working, $40 audit.

Limited to 8 working spots (unlimited auditing spots).

About Jane:
“I have been involved in agility as a handler and competitor for more than 25 years. Since I began coaching in 2006, I have enjoyed helping dog-and-handler teams build new skills and become stronger and more confident. In early 2024, while recovering from knee surgery, I looked for another way to keep my border collie, Chaser, active. I remembered seeing Hoopers in the U.S. about 10 years earlier and realized it was exactly what I needed. I began classes in April 2024 and was immediately hooked. I have since attended seminars with CHC founder Debbie Vassallo and became a CHC judge in November 2025. Chaser and I have competed in several virtual and in-person trials and now compete at the Intermediate level.

As a coach, I firmly believe that strong foundation skills make advanced training easier. To continually improve and update my coaching knowledge, I have attended seminars with Kathy Keats and completed several online programs.”

Dog'O'Pogo will be hosting our "Intro to Nosework" course this fall/winter:
🗓 Saturdays (October 24-December 5; no class November 28)
🕑1:00-2:00 p.m.
📍8465 Buchanan Rd, Coldstream

This course is open to both members and non-members. It is a fun, beginner-friendly introduction to the sport. You do not need any knowledge of nosework to join in - just have lots of yummy dog treats and be ready to play!

Several of our members went to the Interior Provincial Exhibition and Stampede this year to put on an agility demo. The audience loved the dogs! We did a run off agility race on Sunday which was a blast. Thank you to all our members that came out and participated to showcase the sport of dog agility. It was a success!
