She’s giving back in a big way. 📚

Rachel Reid, the Nova Scotia author whose romance novels inspired the hit TV series Heated Rivalry, has donated $300,000 to struggling libraries in Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley.

The Annapolis Valley Regional Library previously warned that five of its 11 branches could close due to a structural deficit and rising costs after the province declined to increase its budget.

The library board says Reid’s donation will now be used to support priority library services. Reid says libraries are one of the most important services available and believes they should be a government priority.

This collection of books belongs to the classroom of our Alpine Book Warehouse friend, Kristi, who is building a library for her students. An eclectic bunch of genres from business to fiction. We are supporting her efforts to encourage young brains to read by keeping an eye out for her requested publications.

Today we presented the last cheque of our Spring/Summer 2026 program to the Vernon and District Immigration and Community Services Society.

It has been our pleasure to make a little difference to the efforts to all of our recipients as they support those less fortunate in our community.
