Home Zero Collective is a new non-profit society based in Vernon, BC offering an exciting and innovative approach to retrofitting home energy systems one neighbourhood at a time, accelerating the clean energy transition. This project will allow you to have solar PV, geothermal or air-source heat pump, and an electric hot water system. You'll get clean energy fast, which tackles the climate crisis,
but it will also increase the resale value of your home as well. The best part is that you don't have to come up with a huge amount of capital upfront to get it done, paying just a monthly fee roughly equal to your current energy charges. Grants and rebates are plentiful right now, and we'll help you take advantage of all of them. Doing this as a group with your neighbours will save you 45-50% than if you did it alone as we take advantage of bulk buying and resource pooling. This will be a revolutionary shift in energy creation that will see your home's greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) reduced by 85-99%. We are looking for an initial 10-15 homes to be part of the first pilot project which will serve as a prototype for future neighbourhood retrofits. You get the benefit of making the switch very quickly AND you'll do it with your neighbours at the same time.
