Royal Canadian Legion 100th Year Anniversary
Grafton Legion Branch 580

On Friday July 17, 2026 help us celebrate 100 years of service, remembrance and community of the Royal Canadian Legion.

Grafton Legion will be having an open house from 1-6pm with several Branch displays, military displays and a World War 2 M38 jeep with a mounted 106mm recoilless rifle.

Events will include a pig roast dinner starting at 4pm, being served with salads and a bun with butter and a 100th Year Anniversary cake.

Cost: FREE

Everyone is welcome

Music will be provided by Interpool Entertainment.

Please bring your lawn chairs.

Celebration of Life

It is with regret that we announce the passing of Keith Marvin Barlow, September 22, 1951 - June 16, 2026.

A Celebration of Life will take place at the Grafton Legion on Saturday July 4th, 2026 from 1:30 – 4 pm. with words of remembrance at 2 pm.

Friday Night Meals – Meat Loaf

Cost: $15.00. Children 12 and under, $7.00.

June 19 - Friday will be our meat loaf dinner. To be served with mashed potatoes, corn and roll with butter. Yes, there will be "LOTS" of gravy!

Desserts will include our non-sugar items such as oranges, watermelon and bananas. There will be a large selection of pies and home made desserts. This week I am told that the home made will include cheesecake (by Heather), Bread Pudding (by Gerry) and raspberry chocolate bunt cake.

Dinners start at 4pm and run until 6pm or until we run out.
Fridays include four meat draws.

The monthly 50/50 draw for June has started and will be drawn Friday 26 at 5pm. Tickets are $5.00 and are available at the bar or see Sharon when she comes around for the Meat Draws.

Everyone is welcome.

Take out is available.

We are open:
– Tuesday 6pm-10pm – Mixed Darts
– Thursday 1pm-4pm – Moonshot Euchre
– Fridays 2pm-6pm
– Saturdays 1pm-5pm

A donation was made from 1st Annual Karen Jaynes and Pat Skinner Memorial Dart Tournament that was held on June 13.

The donation was in the amount of $1,450.00 to go towards the Building Fund.

Pictured is President John Grozelle with Christine Carr, Wayne Jaynes and Al Mann, who organized this Memorial Dart Tournament.

At our June 14 General Meeting a Welcoming Ceremony and initiation was held for 5 new members.

Pictured is President John Grozelle, Sgt-at-Arms Scott Martin, Marc Cave, Lyle Skidmore, Carolyn Skidmore, Rob Partington, Barry Grills and Membership Chair Christine Carr.

These new members have joined under the Legions new Free 2026 Centenary membership program. Members joining between January and December 2026 will have their membership for free.

Centreton, Vernonville and Macklin Cemetery

On Friday June 12, Grafton Legion Cemetery Decoration Committee member Dave Harnden placed white crosses and Canadian Flags on Veterans Graves at Centreton, Vernonville and Macklin Cemeteries in preparation for their Decoration Sunday.

The Committee has started to place Red Maple Leafs on the graves of Grafton Legion Associate Members (children and family of veterans).

Also pictured is a plaque at Vernonville of Veterans who are buried overseas

Over the next few weeks the following will be visited and Veterans and Legion members graves will be decorated.
