We’re so saddened to have received the news that local advocate Chance Brown has died by su***de. Chance was a father, partner, friend, life saver, community advocate, creator, entrepreneur, tech wiz, secret keeper, artist, fisherman and lover of the outdoors. Chance had an irresistible smile. He was open and honest about his addiction and the daily struggle to survive while being homeless. He understood the need to talk about the uncomfortable stuff. He delegated to County and Municipal Councils to educate and inform policy makers and provide lived experience.
He was an engaged community member and was a lifeline for many experiencing homelessness, addiction and mental health struggles.
His burden was heavy. He paid a price for his advocacy work, as do many in our community 💔 Chance was always supportive of T4T and we honour him as we move forward.
