🚨 Exciting News for Kawartha Lakes Residents!
The Kawartha Lakes Health Care Initiative (KLHCI) is pleased to announce that Dr. Usman Khurshid, Dr. Kanayo Odunze, and Dr. Uche Nkemdeme are opening a new clinic to serve our community.
📍 Location: 86 Angeline Street South, Unit 202B
📅 Walk-in services begin: May 1, 2026
🩺 Walk-in Clinic Hours:
• Tuesdays & Wednesdays: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
• Thursdays: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
• Fridays: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
📞 Phone: 705-320-7705
Dr. Khurshid and Dr. Odunze will provide walk-in primary care starting May 1, helping residents—especially those without a family doctor—access timely care.
Dr. Nkemdeme will join the clinic full-time in June and will accept patients through Health Care Connect, while also supporting walk-in services.
This new clinic is an important step toward improving access to primary care and reducing non-emergency visits to Ross Memorial Hospital.
💬 “KLHCI’s Board of Directors… are very pleased to support this new clinic… helping reduce visits to the Emergency Department for primary care issues,” says Stacey Gudmundsson, KLHCI Chair.

Looking for a family doctor or nurse practitioner? Start with Health Care Connect!

Health Care Connect helps residents find a family doctor or nurse practitioner — your primary provider for non-emergency health concerns.

✅ If you do not have a primary care provider, registering is the most important step you can take.
✅ Register online at ontario.ca/healthcareconnect or by calling 1-800-445-1822.
✅ Important Update: You no longer need to “de-roster” from your current provider.

Registering will not affect your existing care, but it helps identify those seeking a local provider closer to home.

We thank all residents for their patience as we continue this important work and encourage everyone seeking a local provider to register with Health Care Connect today.
