PRESS RELEASE:

Free Wellness Clinics Coming to Communities Across Haliburton County

The County of Haliburton, Haliburton Highlands Health Services and the Haliburton County Paramedic Services partner to offer accessible, drop-in health and community support events for older adults and individuals looking for support.
Dear Community,
The County of Haliburtonโ€™s Seniors Active Living Centre (SALC) program, Haliburton Highlands Health Services (HHHS), and Haliburton County Community Paramedics (HCPS) are pleased to announce a series of free Wellness Clinics taking place in communities across Haliburton County.
These friendly, drop-in events will bring healthcare-related and community support partners together in accessible local settings, making it easier for residents to find helpful healthcare-related information, services, and connections in one convenient place.
Designed for older adults but open to residents of all ages, the Wellness Clinics will offer a โ€œone stop shopโ€ approach to health information and community supports. Residents do not need a family doctor to attend, and no appointment is required. Support for caregiver respite on site is available with a PSW attending. Please note: these are wellness clinics and not medical clinics โ€“ a primary care provider will not be on site.
By removing the need for appointments and connecting multiple partners in familiar community spaces, the clinics aim to reduce barriers for residents who may benefit from timely information, referrals, screenings, education or connection to local supports.
On-site services could include: blood pressure checks; flu vaccinations; point-of-care glucose testing; inhaler education; connection to community supports; medication reviews. Please note that services may vary by location.
โ€œThese Wellness Clinics are about meeting people where they are, and making it easier to access the information and supports that can help them stay well and connected,โ€ said Warden Dave Burton, County of Haliburton. โ€œWe are excited to welcome residents to these free events and to work together with local partners to support community well-being.โ€
โ€œHHHS is grateful for the opportunity to partner with the County and bring care as close to home as possible,โ€ said Jack Hutchison, President and CEO of Haliburton Highlands Health Services. โ€œThrough our team in Community Support and Outpatient Services, HHHS is committed to reducing the inequities of access to care while being a model of excellence in rural health.โ€
Free local event transportation will also be available for community members who book in advance. Please call 705-286-1333 x. 243 to inquire/book in advance. Light refreshments and snacks will be available on-site.
Residents are encouraged to drop in to the clinic that is most convenient for them.

Upcoming Wellness Clinic dates and locations include:

โ€ข September 16, 2026: 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
