Kawartha Conservation was on Shadow Lake today conducting water testing as apart of their lake health monitoring project! Testing is conducted at three locations along the Gull River (from the Norland dam) and 2 locations northern part of Shadow. This is an extension of the Lake Management Plan that was published in 2019. More details and information will be shared in our late summer newsletter! We will share the results of this years testing in our member e-newsletter sometime in late October or November when published by Kawartha Conservation.

Kawartha Conservation has launched a 5-year project to monitor the health of 11 key lakes, collecting data to guide future stewardship/lake management efforts.

By boat only! Please do not come to shore.

Please help keep everyone safe by slowing down near shore, watching for swimmers and paddlecraft, and always boating sober. Let’s make it a great day for everyone on the water.

Our July e-newsletter has been sent to Shadow Lakes Association members today.

This members-only edition includes full details and the agenda for our upcoming AGM, helpful summer reminders, community updates, upcoming events, and important lake and river news to help keep everyone informed and connected this season.

A friendly reminder: if you haven’t paid your 2026 dues yet, you can do so now by e-transfer ($30 to [email protected]), or you can pay in person at the AGM on July 12 when you register.

As always, thank you to everyone who supports the Shadow Lakes Association through your membership, volunteer time, road monitoring, event participation, and care for our shared community.

📬 The Early Summer Newsletter is on its way!

The volunteers of the Shadow Lakes Association Road Monitor Program have picked up their newsletter bundles and have begun delivering them throughout our lakes and rivers community.
