If you have Valley of the Birdtail, you will want to attend the webinar The Road to Reconciliation on November 12.
Find out what the story of two neighbouring communities can teach us about reconciliation, human rights and building more equitable communities? Join authors Douglas Sanderson (Amo Binashii) and Andrew Stobo Sniderman for a conversation about reconciliation and the relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians. Drawing on the story of Rossburn, Manitoba, and the Waywayseecappo Indian Reserve, explored in their acclaimed book Valley of the Birdtail, they will discuss how racism and historical policies have shaped communities across generations. The conversation will consider what reconciliation means in practice and what we can learn about creating communities where people of all generations can live with dignity and have their rights respected.

A commitment to education can continue well beyond a career in the classroom.

Through its 2026 Legacy Grants, Entente Education Canada is supporting five projects that benefit elementary and secondary school communities. Each grant provides $1,000 for a local initiative undertaken with education partners.

This year’s recipients are District 4 Sudbury Manitoulin, District 21 Renfrew, District 28 Durham, District 39 Peel and District 42 Mainland British Columbia.

Their projects honour Entente’s roots in education while opening new opportunities for students to learn.
