☀️🎄 Christmas in the sunshine? Absolutely.

Yesterday our incredible volunteers traded snowflakes for sunshine as they spent the day outside tackling one of the least glamorous—but most important—jobs of Christmas Closet season: de-lighting, testing, untangling, and packaging donated Christmas trees!
And what a day it was.

🌲 31 trees processed 🔌 Countless strands of lights tested 📦 Trees packaged and ready for their new homes 😅 One particularly stubborn tree required 4 volunteers and nearly 4 hours before everyone declared victory!

If you've ever wondered what happens before November 2nd, here's a little behind-the-scenes peek. Every tree is checked, repaired when possible, and prepared so shoppers can take home a tree that's ready for Christmas magic.

The weather was beautiful, the company was even better, and somehow Christmas prep in May felt perfectly normal. 😉

✨🎄 Volunteer Picks of the Week 🎄✨

Our volunteers have spoken… and let’s just say, your future Christmas decor is looking very merry 👀

❄️ Nancy chose the life of the party — a 2ft snowman with flashing lights. Subtle? No. Festive? ABSOLUTELY.

🌲 Dorothy is loving the rustic wooden trees — simple, cozy, and giving Hallmark movie vibes without the dramatic plot twist.

🎺 Marg picked the classic nutcracker — standing tall, judging no one (but also… maybe everyone).

🎁 Barb went straight for the ornament mix — and yes… they’re now in LARGER bags because apparently “just a few” ornaments was never realistic.

🦌 Jasmine chose the reindeer — calm, classy, and 100% ready to guide your sleigh (or at least your shelf decor).

🎄 All of these (and SO much more) will be waiting for you November 2nd — but trust us… you’ll want to be early. The good stuff doesn’t sit still 😉

A rare find has landed at New Life Christmas Closet — a stunning 19" Chalvignac fat lava glaze ceramic tree in PRISTINE condition!

Our volunteers turn your donated ribbon (open rolls only 🎀 ) into Christmas magic — one bow at a time. Leftover ribbon turned holiday-ready décor, nothing goes to waste around here!

These handmade beauties will be available starting November 2nd — just in time to top off your Christmas treasures. 🎄✨

Volunteer Picks of the Week are here… and this lineup deserves its own holiday fan club 🎄✨

🎨 Dorothy chose the handmade pottery nativity — created by a student in pottery class at Chatham Christian School. One-of-a-kind and full of heart.

🏍️ Marg picked the snowman biker — he plays Bad to the Bone and revs his engine… because apparently even snowmen have a wild side.

🫖 Barb’s favourite is the cardinal teapot — festive, cozy, and basically begging for a Christmas tea party.

🎅 Jasmine chose the Victorian Santa — timeless, nostalgic, and ready to bring all the vintage Christmas charm.

Not every donation arrives picture-perfect. Sometimes it’s broken, missing pieces, or just needs a little extra ❤️

This swag came to us as “just parts” — but with a little creativity, care, and volunteer magic, it’s been given New Life! 💖

That’s one of the best parts of what we do at New Life Christmas Closet… seeing the potential in something others may have passed by.

From broken pieces to holiday beauty — ready for a second chance. ❤️

This is only ONE of the rooms for the New Life Christmas Closet… and it’s already giving full-on Christmas magic 🎄✨

The shelves? Filling fast.

Our volunteers have spoken… and their choices are very telling 👀

🎄 Dorothy picked the adorable relaxing snowman pad & paper — because even snowmen need to unwind after a long winter.
🤍 Nancy chose the pure white fur tree skirt — fancy, fabulous, and just a little bit extra (we respect it).
🐧 Barb went with the adorable penguin… who is STILL waiting for the perfect scarf 🧣 (applications currently being accepted).
🌲 Marg picked the silver frosted tree — understated, classy, and not shedding needles everywhere (huge win).
