Since its inception in 1998, the Foundation of CKHA has led activities formerly carried out by the Public General Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital and Sydenham District Hospital Foundations and has raised over $38 million to date through annual campaigns, capital and endowment campaigns, memorial and planned giving programs and special events. Generous contributions to the Foundation of CKHA allow CKHA to provide patients, and their loved ones, with quality healthcare at both the Chatham and Sydenham Campuses. Over the years, contributions have helped to maintain and improve hospital equipment and facilities, support specific projects, programs and services and meet CKHA’s most urgent capital equipment needs.

A big thank you to Julie Mulder of Pampered Chef, who recently hosted a two-week online fundraiser in support of Mammography at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

Through a portion of sales from the fundraiser, Julie raised $417 to support local care.

Every fundraiser looks a little different, and every act of generosity adds up. We’re so grateful to Julie, and to everyone who placed an order, for finding another meaningful way to support our hospital and the patients who count on it.

October ends. Our community’s impact continues.

As Breast Cancer Awareness Month comes to a close, we’re giving the final word to the CKHA team at the heart of our Mammo Matters video series. Their message is simple: your support helps them care for you.

To everyone who wore pink, shared a story, organized a fundraiser or made a gift this month, thank you for turning awareness into action here in Chatham-Kent.

Thanks to the generous support of Scotiabank, Dynamic Simulation continues to help prepare healthcare teams at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for some of the most critical moments in patient care!

This month's session focused on two life-threatening emergencies, septic shock and cardiogenic shock, which can affect the body's ability to deliver blood and oxygen to vital organs. Through realistic, hands-on simulations, hospital teams practised recognizing these conditions, making critical decisions, and working together when every second counts.

It's another great example of how innovative training is helping strengthen the quality of care available to patients right here in Chatham-Kent.

As we near the end of Respiratory Therapist Week, we want to say a great big THANK YOU to all of the incredible Respiratory Therapists and Anesthesia Assistants at CKHA who go above and beyond every single day. 💙

These dedicated professionals are crucial to so many departments across our hospital, from ICU to the OR, Emergency, Women & Children's, and more. Providing outstanding care with skill, compassion and commitment, these wonderful folks make a profound different for local patients, day in and day out!

If you have a Respiratory Therapist or Anesthesia Assistant in your life, be sure to thank them for all that they do. Not just this week, but every week! 👏

Another incredible result from this year’s Mamma Maria’s Drive Out Breast Cancer Golf Tournament! ⛳

Thanks to Monica Couto, her family, organizers, sponsors, volunteers and countless supporters, this year's tournament in Wheatley raised $4,600 in support of Mammography at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

That brings the tournament’s overall support for cancer care at CKHA to an amazing $29,760.

We’re so grateful to Monica for the heart and dedication she continues to pour into this event year after year, and to everyone who helps make it possible.

What a beautiful way to honour Maria’s memory while making a real difference for local patients and families.
