Supporting local business doesn’t happen in isolation.

This year, Community Futures CK has been building partnerships with organizations including the Chatham-Kent Chamber of Commerce, WEtech Alliance and Fédération des gens d’affaires francophones de l’Ontario.

Why?
Because connecting expertise, financing and community resources can create more ways for entrepreneurs to move their businesses forward.

Strong local businesses benefit all of Chatham-Kent, and collaboration helps us support more of them.

Before Beautiful Faces by Geena was a business, it was a vision.

Geena had the passion, determination and willingness to put in the work. What she needed was support to help take that vision from an idea to something real.

Community Futures CK was proud to be part of that first step, providing financing and support that helped Geena invest in equipment, open her doors and begin building her clientele. Today, that original idea has grown into a business and career she’s incredibly proud of.

Her message to other aspiring entrepreneurs?
Share the idea. Ask the questions. Take the first step.
Because the business you can picture in your head today might be the one you get to walk into tomorrow.

Small businesses do a lot more than sell products and services.

They create jobs. Bring new ideas to our communities. Sponsor local events. Fill our downtowns. Take chances. Adapt. Grow. And give Chatham-Kent much of its character.

During BDC Small Business Week, we’re celebrating the people behind those businesses — and the determination it takes to keep building.

To Chatham-Kent’s entrepreneurs: this week is for you!

Business financing isn’t always one-size-fits-all.

At Community Futures CK, loan decisions are made locally with an understanding of the community businesses operate in. We take the time to learn about the business, the plan and what the owner is trying to accomplish.

Eligible Chatham-Kent businesses can apply for financing of up to $300,000 through our Investment Fund.

Sometimes the best place to start isn’t with an application. It’s with a conversation. Come chat with our amazing team!

Behind every local business are decisions, risks, long days and someone willing to bet on an idea.

That’s why supporting entrepreneurs matters beyond the walls of any one business. When local businesses have the opportunity to succeed, that momentum can ripple throughout the communities they call home.

Community Futures works alongside entrepreneurs across rural Ontario with business guidance, flexible financing and local support designed to help businesses move forward.

Because investing in local business is also an investment in the future of our communities.
