ππ» HAVE A SAFE & HAPPY HALLOWEEN! πΈοΈπ¦
Halloween is full of spooky fun, but safety should never be scary! Whether you're trick-or-treating with the kids, handing out candy, or heading out for the evening, keep these 7 safety tips in mind:
π¦ Be Seen: Wear bright colours or reflective tape, and carry a flashlight or glow stick to help drivers see you.
πΈ Use Crosswalks: Cross at intersections, look both ways, and make eye contact with drivers before crossing.
π¨βπ©βπ§ Stay Together: Children should trick-or-treat with a trusted adult or in a group. Plan your route and set a check-in time.
π Choose Safe Costumes: Make sure costumes fit properly, avoid tripping hazards, and use face paint instead of masks that block vision.
π¬ Check Treats: Have an adult inspect candy before eating. Avoid unwrapped treats or anything that appears tampered with.
π Be Careful at Homes: Stick to well-lit houses, use sidewalks where available, and never enter a strangerβs home or vehicle.
π Drive With Extra Caution: Slow down in residential areas, watch for children near parked cars, and put your phone away while driving.
Help keep Chatham-Kent safe this Halloween and look out for one another.
