Bring your helmet to the Children's Safety Expo and local police experts will help you learn how to properly adjust and wear it for maximum protection. This is your opportunity to work directly with three Chatham-Kent Police Service Special Constable experts who will be on-site for the special Bike Helmet Fitting Clinic.

A few minutes checking a helmet can make a big difference when your child is out riding.

🚲⛑️ Three Reasons a Properly Fitted Bike Helmet Matters:
1️⃣ Better protection: A properly fitted helmet helps absorb some of the force from a fall or impact and can reduce the risk of serious head injuries
2️⃣ It stays where it belongs: A helmet that is too loose or incorrectly positioned can move or come off during a crash. Proper adjustment helps keep it centered and secure
3️⃣ Kids grow and so do their helmets: A helmet should fit properly today and for the entire time you own it

A helmet only provides its intended protection when it fits correctly and stays securely in place. Health Canada recommends that bicycle helmets fit snugly, sit low on the forehead, and have properly adjusted straps and a secure chin buckle.

🚨 Human trafficking can happen in plain sight and awareness can help save lives.

A new campaign at ONroute locations across Ontario is putting information directly where it can reach travellers, truck drivers and others who may encounter someone experiencing human trafficking.

The survivor-led Timea’s Market campaign uses personal-care products, survivor stories and QR codes to help people recognize the warning signs of trafficking, while also providing tools that can help victims identify what may be happening to them and find support.

Human trafficking doesn't always look the way we expect. It can involve manipulation, coercion, control and exploitation, and victims may not even recognize that they are being trafficked.

👉 Know the signs. Trust your instincts. If something doesn't seem right, say something.

If you have information about suspected human trafficking, you can make an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers. You don't have to give your name, and you could help protect someone from further exploitation.
