A new program is coming to the Springbank Heritage Club: Guided Sound Meditation.
What is it? Through the playing of various instruments, sound frequencies are emitted that help to relax the mind and the body. Some of the instruments used are the following: wind chimes, bamboo chimes, tongue drum, 19 inch and 24 inch gongs, Tibetan singing bowls and rain sticks. Your facilitator will take you on a relaxing guided meditation within the background of these tranquil beneficial sounds.
Why participate? Research has Indicated that Sound Meditations can have a positive affect on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual body. This form of meditation with sound frequencies may help to alleviate pain, reduce anxiety and stress levels, lower blood pressure, strengthen your immune system and improve sleep quality.
What do you need to bring? Just bring a water bottle if you’re planning on sitting as chairs are available. If you wish to lay down during the session, then bring your own mat, pillow and blanket, if desired.
