Attention Haysboro Residents!

If you have not noticed yet the development located at
1008 89 Ave SW has just started and already we are receiving complaints. As this contentious intersection has yet to see the level of traffic that will soon appear when school returns we request that any issues be reported to 311 so the city can keep track. We have advised the city several times that this intersection is a high traffic entrance into our community and already we have seen a child struck here. We need all of the vehicles to obey the no stopping sign out front of this property for safety.

Important Time-Sensitive Notice – Your Attention Is Needed

Residents living within 60 metres of three proposed developments in our community have received letters this week from the City of Calgary (attached). The letters advise that these development applications have met certain criteria that would exempt them from the new rezoning rules. Criteria residents were not aware of.

For example, a multi-residential development could still proceed on a crescent even though the property's land use is scheduled to revert to RC-1 (single-detached residential) on August 4, 2026 and the proper amendments to the plans have not been made.

*Basically what the letter is saying is these particular developments do not have to follow the new bylaw rules when blanket rezoning was changed.

If you disagree with these exemptions, we encourage you to submit your comments before Monday, July 13, 2026, and copy all City Councillors on your submission. You may also choose to speak at the public hearing.

Information on how to submit written comments, register to speak, or attend the public hearing is included in the attached City letter.
