We proudly fund vital programs and services through our annual United Jewish Appeal Campaign and allocate resources according to a strategic plan based on Jewish communal needs and priorities. Today, we held a moment of silence to pause, reflect, and honour those we lost as a result of the tragic events of October 7, three years ago on this day.

That day changed Jewish life around the world, including here in Calgary. In coming together, we send a message of hope, unity, and strength, and remind one another that we are not alone.

Today, we remember. We reflect. We stand together. 💙

Three years after the horrors of October 7, 2023, we remember the innocent lives that were taken, the hostages torn from their homes, and the communities left in ashes.

We continue to stand with the people of Israel as they rebuild their homes, replant their fields, and welcome their people home.

On Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah, we finish reading the Torah and immediately begin again.
It's a cycle that has sustained the Jewish people for generations.

But this holiday teaches us to pause before we begin again. We rest. We practice being present. We celebrate completion to honor what we've accomplished before the cycle begins again.

Please join us on Wednesday, October 7 at 7pm to remember, reflect, and stand together for Marking October 7th.

This meaningful evening will bring our community together to honour the lives lost and forever changed by the tragic events of that day, and to reflect together through remembrance and storytelling.

The evening will begin with a short commemorative ceremony, followed by a screening of the moving documentary Safe Room, directed by Haley Geffen.

This is a free event, but registration is required. Location will be communicated prior to the event.

Join us in our beautifully decorated sukkah for an opportunity to experience the joy of Sukkot together through crafts, stories, songs and festive activities.
