It might be mid-June, but we're still reflecting on an incredible May at the Calgary Jewish Federation! 💙
From meaningful conversations and educational programs, to family celebrations, community connections, and inspiring cultural events, May was packed with opportunities to learn, grow, and come together.
Some highlights included:
• The Here to Tell exhibit making its eastern debut at the Saskatoon Public Library
• PJ Library moms learning to play Mahjong
• Our Inclusion group gathered to celebrate both Lag B'Omer and Shavuot
• PJ Library's delicious Shavuot Sunday Sundae (with lots of ice cream!)
• Welcoming author Bonny Reichert for a discussion of her memoir How to Share an Egg: A True Story of Hunger, Love, and Plenty
• An adorable Shavuot-themed photo shoot with Shalom Baby families
• The return of our One Thread, Six Million Lives exhibit to the Calgary Public Library
• Connecting with so many, at our downtown Nosh & Network at Fasken Law
• Being present as Pietertje, Willem Jan, and Jacob Tensen, were posthumously recognized by Yad Vashem as Righteous Among the Nations
• Hosting 2,400 high school students at our annual Holocaust Education Symposium, featuring presentations by Dr. George Dalbo and Logan Greene, alongside powerful survivor and descendant testimonies
• Sharing songs, stories, and plenty of challah at three wonderful Tot Shabbats
• Welcoming young leaders from Sharaka for an important conversation about coexistence in the evolving Middle East
• Experiencing stories of resilience and hope through music with Israeli artist Gilad Segev at the Project Heroes concert
Thank you to everyone who joined us, partnered with us, and helped make these moments possible. We can't wait to see what May brings!
