The HFC currently focuses on the education of needy children with single or disabled parents in Sri Lanka. At the moment, monthly scholarships are granted to 41 Sri Lankan children with financial difficulties. Children are selected by the committee according to the criteria set by the HFC. There is also a proposed water purification project to provide safe and clean water in a remote area of Sri L
anka. It is under evaluation, and we currently looking for a suitable project. Funds are raised by membership fees, and other fund raising activities such as selling food packets , organizing films and concerts. We also accept donations from generous private donors and companies. Public has also the opportunity to sponsor children through the HFC. There is no administration expenses in our organization which means every dollar of your donation will go towards main objectives. The HFC is registered under CRA as a charitable organization. The HFC committee make decisions and plan activities in accordance with the HFC constitution and bylaws. At present, there are about 50 members and many volunteers contributing their valuable time.
