Riding season is upon us, brush up on your skills.

Check your tires and fluids, after pushing last riding session to the bitter end time for new shoe.

Ride safe out there.

It’s here. Riding season. Heated up grabbing some miles. Feeling the stretch of muscles which haven’t been used in a while. Before you get all excited. You check your scoot ? Tighten down all the bolts and do hickeys. Cause I’m out riding after doing a bunch of upgrades and there you go. Pinch bolt for the front forks. Gone. Bolt for the air intake gone. Got a little excited to get out there. Take your time. Do the checks. It’s the little extras which will keep you upright and riding. Ride safe. Have an amazing season. Much love from all the Stampede city crew.

CRA is going on strike. I’m sure this is a prelude to the emergency measures act being enacted. Folks will be coming to your door and demanding silver and gold to pay to our government. I’m always amazed how a Government Agency can strike in the height of the tax season. But I will hazard a guess we will still be getting out tax assessments and threats.

Weather is turning, saw cruisers and rockets on the highway. That’s awesome. I want to remind all that although the weather is turning. Take your time to hop on that scoot. Gravel is everywhere. At speed, you lose traction on cornering. All it takes is a small pile of stones on the highway, and you’ll be sliding into home plate. Prep, check yours tires. See your mechanic, make sure the brakes are good. Did you put stabilizer on your tank. Get some fresh fuel. Injectors or carbs, a little prep on your bike will see you riding for miles to come. Look at the helmet. Still good? Remember. You can get where you are going really fast and miss the view. Or take your time and enjoy the ride. Get ready. It’s riding season just around the corner.

It’s getting close. That riding season is almost upon us. This is the time to set up your scoots. Check tire depths on your treads. How are the brakes on your scoot ? Front brakes wear faster so they definitely should be checked. What about updates to your scoot? New bars, maybe? Some detailing. You thinking about powder coatings or chroming. Now is the time to get stuff done. Air filters, oil changes, so many things that you can be doing. Think about your riding gear. Updating your helmets. Boots or riding shoes. End of the day it’s about safety and comfort. I only know that every riding I clock around 30000 plus K. With that being said, I want my scoot to last for years to come. So I prepare, prep and enjoy the ride. You see us about. Stop and say hello. Because we will always say hello back. MBBM.

Tips for safe riding.

Contrary to popular belief, looking cool is not the top priority when getting on your bike. No matter how hot it is outside, shorts, a T-shirt, and sandals are not proper riding attire. Even jeans provide minimal protection against injury and road rash if you happen to slide. You can go for extreme protection with leathers or reinforced jackets, pants, and boots. Having been in one a accident involving a BBQ cover off a trailer at 80k’s, I lost a lot of skin, because I didn’t follow my own safety tip!

Know your abilities and make sure that neither your chosen route nor motorcycle is more than you can handle. Your bike should fit you; that means that your feet should be able to rest flat on the ground when seated – no tiptoes. And if the bike feels too heavy for you, it probably is. You want to be able to easily get on and off your motorcycle and the handlebars and controls should be easy for you to reach. The more familiar you are with your route, the easier it will be for you to focus on safety instead of not missing a turn.

And if you’re riding with a group, don’t push yourself just to keep up with the pack. Always ride to your comfort level, not theirs. This is extremely important in a pack ride. You ride the slowest bike, the pack adjusts to you. If you truly uncomfortable. Ride at the back and get comfortable. The ride is suppose to be fun. Not on the edge of your seat white knuckling it.
