Justice for Palestinians – Calgary is a community-based group formed in the fall of 2009 to support the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions Campaign called for by Palestinian civil society in 2005. Among other things:
- we work to end all Canadian complicity in Israeli apartheid;
- we oppose all forms of racism including Islamophobia and antisemitism,
- we stand in solidarity with all oppressed groups around the world, in particular the indigenous peoples of North America.

Today was a historic day in Calgary. For the first time ever, the Palestinian flag was flown proudly. Calgarians have been protesting weekly for over two years as the genocide in Gaza and the violent occupation in the West Bank continue, but today was a day for visibility, to honour Palestine, it’s people, it’s culture and it’s belonging.

Congratulations to the Palestinian community Association .2025 on a deeply momentous and meaningful event that radiated with a sense of community and solidarity that we all needed. Despite the last minute date change due to the city’s announcement of banning all non-Canadian flags at city hall, they made us all proud and pulled together community leaders and speakers to mark this day on November 15th, Palestinian Independence Day.

May the flag of Palestine fly all over Palestine freely and all throughout the world. We will not be erased, we will not be shadow banned, we will be here forever❤️ 🇵🇸
