22 RCSCC UNDAUNTED RCSCC UNDAUNTED is one of three sea cadet corps in Calgary. This year, we are celebrating our 107th training year!

Cadets is a national organization for youth aged 12 to 18. As part of the Sea Cadet program, RCSCC UNDAUNTED provides exciting opportunities and challenges for today's youth.The Sea Cadet program is sponsored in partnership by the Department of National Defence and the civilian group the Navy League of Canada. Cadets are not part of the Canadian Forces, nor is there any expectation for them to joi

n the military. We aim to:
Develop good citizenship and leadership
Promote physical fitness
Stimulate an interest in the sea, land and air activities of the Canadian Forces

Cadets develop:
Lifelong friendships
Responsibility, Self-Awareness, and Self-Discipline
Teamwork, Leadership, and Citizenship

Fair winds and following seas to Undaunted’s own Officer Cadet (OCdt) Elton Wu who was sworn in this week as an officer in the Canadian Armed Forces.

OCdt Wu will be attending the Royal Military College of Canada in the fall to pursue his Bachelor of Engineering degree and train as an engineer officer.

Thank you for your service to Undaunted, our cadets, and our community. We wish you every success in this new chapter in your career!

Last weekend, 22 UNDAUNTED travelled to Sylvan Lake for sailing. While the weather kept us off the water more than we would have liked, our cadets still made the most of the weekend. From spending time with friends and learning new skills to taking part in activities throughout the weekend, there was never a dull moment. A huge thank you to the staff and volunteers who made this experience possible. Even though the wind wasn’t always on our side, it was still a weekend full of great memories and experiences for everyone involved.

On May 19th, the Level 2 cadets from 52 Air Cadets swapped with our Phase 2 cadets from 22 Undaunted. Throughout the evening, the cadets had the opportunity to experience what life is like as a Sea Cadet during a regular training night. From learning new skills to making new friends, everyone had an amazing time, and the exchange was a great success!

Today, we commemorate the Battle of the Atlantic.

The battle was a very important part of the Second World War. It began on September 3rd, 1939 and ended on May 8th 1945. Canada’s primary role during the battle was to es**rt hundreds of convoys that gathered for the journey across the Atlantic. Canada lost 2000 Sailors, 1600 Merchant mariners and 752 airmen throughout the duration of the Battle of the Atlantic. Every year on the first Sunday of May, many gather together to remember and commemorate the lives that were taken in the battle.

We gathered at HMCS Tecumseh at 10 am to honour the lives of those that were lost, and the tragedy of the battle and of the Second World War.
