🌱 The Camp 30 Rejuvenation Garden continues to grow! 🌱

A big thank you to Todd Tremeer, who has been doing an incredible job starting seedlings in his greenhouse and helping get them planted at the garden. So far, we have pole beans, tomatoes, squash and kale growing, along with row crops including spinach, radishes and beets. More varieties will continue to be added throughout the season.

The west side of the garden has also been tarped to help prevent w**d growth until temperatures are warm enough to plant pumpkins and melons later this month.

Thank you as well to Pat Lewis and Paul Laing for helping with planting, and to Faye Langmaid for her ongoing leadership and dedication to the garden project. We’re also grateful to all of the volunteers continuing to help bring new life to the historic Camp 30 property. 🌱

🌱 Camp 30 Rejuvenation Garden Growing Again for 2026 🌱

The Jury Lands Foundation’s Rejuvenation Garden is officially underway for another season at Camp 30 — continuing to grow fresh produce for the Clarington East Food Bank while bringing new life to this historic site.

Last year, the garden delivered more than 500 lbs of fresh produce to local families throughout the summer. Located on the grounds of the former WWII POW camp, the Rejuvenation Garden represents a positive new use for the historic property while helping support local families in need.

This year’s garden is already taking shape, with plans to grow:
🥒 Cucumbers
🫘 Green beans
🎃 Squash and pumpkins
🥬 A mix of additional vegetables throughout the season

This project is only possible because of the incredible support of our community. Special thanks to:

• Miller for donating mulch
• Tom Barrie for donating his time and truck to deliver it to the site
• Tom Morawetz for donating equipment and volunteer time
• Price’s Farm Market for assisting with seeds and seedlings
• Our dedicated volunteers and board members who continue contributing time, supplies, and hard work to keep the garden thriving

Launched in 2025, the Rejuvenation Garden has become a meaningful example of how community care and heritage preservation can grow side by side. We would also like to thank members of the public for continuing to respect the garden space and helping keep it in great condition for everyone to enjoy. 🌱
