Special Olympics Lakeland

Special Olympics Lakeland Lakeland Special Olympics strives to provide recreational and competitive sporting opportunities for those with intellectual disabilities over the age of 12

Special Olympics offers programs for athletes with an intellectual disability. Coaches and volunteers work to give people with an intellectual disability the opportunity to realize their full athletic potential through recreational and competitive sport. Through Special Olympics, athletes develop sport skills, social skills, and self-esteem which assist them in becoming actively involved in recrea

tional, educational and employment opportunities in their communities. Special Olympics promotes an active lifestyle and better quality of life for persons with intellectual disabilities through their participation in sport. To become an athlete or a volunteer, contact us today!

Congratulations Noella! A wonderful volunteer with Lakeland Special Olympics

Please join us in congratulating Noella Cameron on her 15-year anniversary with Lakeland Credit Union!

As a valued member of our Advisory Centre team, Noella brings a positive, friendly attitude and a wealth of knowledge. She’s always quick to lend a helping hand, and her dedication makes a real difference for both her teammates and our members. Noella was also the recipient of the Board of Distinction Award this year, the highest employee recognition at LCU!

Noella is also a long-standing volunteer with Special Olympics, volunteering 255 hours last year!

We’re lucky to have you on our team, Noella!

The sun is shining, and that can only mean one thing — Challenger Baseball season is almost here!

Challenger Baseball is an adaptive program that gives children, youth, and adults with cognitive or physical disabilities the chance to enjoy the game in a fun, inclusive, and safe environment. It's all about participation, skill-building, and personal growth — not competition.

We’re currently welcoming both athletes and buddies to join us for the season! Sessions run on Sundays from 6:00–7:00 PM at the Mosquito Field at Imperial Park(Energy Centre fields)

Our first night on the field is May 24th (weather permitting), and the season runs until early August.

Follow the link or reach out to register — we can't wait to see you on the field.

Bonus: it’s completely free!
