Floorball starts tonight! Ardmore School Gym (use back door) 6:30 pm. Bus leaves Cold Lake Staples parking lot at 6:00 and returns at 8:00-ensure you have pickup/drop offs organized.

Many of you know Joy Clarke as one of the friendly faces at the Bonnyville Farmers Market.
This past weekend, Joy experienced the unimaginable when she lost her home in a devastating fire.

Our market is more than a place to shop.
It’s a community that looks after one another.

If you’ve been wondering how you can help, this Saturday is your opportunity.

We’ll be accepting monetary donations at the Bonnyville Farmers Market, with all donations going directly to help Joy.

If you’re unable to attend the market but would still like to contribute, please send us a private message or connect with Linda Boser, and we’ll help you make arrangements.

The meaning of a word is shaped not only by its definition, but also by its connection to lived experiences.

As we near the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we’re sharing the definitions of common words as they relate to the experiences of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples in the Residential School system.

Today’s word is reconciliation: an ongoing process based on the principles of mutual respect, honesty and goodwill.

What sports does Special Olympics offer? Each SO club is different but Lakeland SO offers:
* Bowling on Thursday nights in both Bonnyville and Cold Lake
* Floorball on Tuesday nights at Ardmore School Gym
* Bocce is offered May - August in both CL and Bville
* Sports clinics are offered throughout the year to try new sports
Come join us Sept 24 from 6-8pm to learn more about Special Olympics as an athlete or volunteer.

Bowling runs from Sept - April $225
Floorball runs Oct - March $50
If athletes are struggling with fed but want to participate, please talk to us about the options.

Registration: Athletes and Volunteers can register for Bowling and Floorball through the Alberta Special Olympics website:https://www.specialolympics.ab.ca
Go to the athlete/volunteer tab, select athlete registration and then follow the prompts - our club is LAKELAND.
You can also get support to register on Sept 24 from 6-8 pm at the bowling alleys in Cold Lake and Bonnyville. You must be registered to play or help.

Who can attend Special Olympics? The local special olympics sports club is for athletes with a developmental disability in Cold Lake/Bonnyville area who are 12+ years old. Offering weekly practices plus regional and provincial competition. Tag or share with someone who might like to participate in Special Olympics. Sept 24 from 6-8pm at Cold Lake & Bville bowling alleys will be an information and registration night. We are welcoming new and returning athletes.
