A very special COPE visit to the Barrie Colts! 🐾🏒

Our COPE Service Dogs recently had the chance to stop by and visit some of the team, and we’re pretty sure our pups enjoyed all the attention as much as the players did!

We’re also incredibly excited to officially announce the Colts in the Community as our Presenting Sponsor of our 2026 High Tea! 🫖💛

We truly can’t thank the Barrie Colts Foundation enough for their generous support of COPE Service Dogs. Having the support of an organization so committed to our community means so much to us, and we’re incredibly grateful to have them in our corner.

We have some very exciting news to share… three new puppies have joined the COPE family! 💙🐾

These little ones are beginning a 2-year training journey that will transform them from playful puppies into highly trained service dogs that may one day help someone with a physical disability live with greater independence, confidence, and connection.
 
As we celebrate International Assistance Dog Week, we’re reminded that every successful service dog starts with a community that believes in their potential.
 
COPE is proud to be an Assistance Dogs International (ADI) accredited organization, committed to the highest international standards in breeding, training, and placing service dogs.

Reaching and maintaining these standards is only possible because of the incredible support of our donors, sponsors and volunteers.

UPDATE: Our COPE van has been located! ❤️🐾
Thanks to the incredible support of our community and the work of the Ontario Provincial Police and Barrie Police Service, our stolen van has been recovered.

We are so grateful to everyone who shared our post, kept an eye out, and helped spread the word. The response from our community has been overwhelming and truly shows the power of coming together.

At this time, we don’t know the condition of the van or when it will be back in service, but we will provide updates as we learn more.

Sometime around 1:20 AM this morning, our GMC Savanna van was broken into and stolen from our Barrie location (80 Bradford Street). We have filed a police report and have video footage of the two individuals involved.

We are asking our community to please be on the lookout, both in the Barrie area and beyond, as the vehicle may be on the move.

Stolen Vehicle Details:

License Plate: AZ 56871
Vehicle: GMC Savanna
Markings: Both sides of the van have an image of 5 golden retrievers sitting in service dog vests with the words “Unleashing Potential” underneath.
An AC unit is mounted on the roof of the van.
Our COPE Service Dogs logo is on the hood.

If you see this vehicle, please call police immediately and report its location.

If you happen to see who is inside the van, please only provide a description to police if you can do so safely. DO NOT approach or confront anyone. Your safety is the most important thing.

This van is an important part of our work supporting people with disabilities and training future service dogs. We are incredibly grateful for our community’s help in spreading the word and bringing it home.
