Sir William Beveridge Foundation - a British Charity with a wealth of experiences working for the elderly in the inner boroughs of London launched its homecare service in Dhaka city on May 11, 2008.The programme includes providing personal/nursing care and other support to older and vulnerable persons with disabilities in order to enable them to maintain quality of life in their own homes. In serv

ing over 500 elders in Dhaka and Sylhet cities, we observed that a good number of them are also suffering from Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of Dementia. Interestingly, many families are blissfully ignorant of it. It also occurs to us that many elders are getting lost due to their inability to come back home having been perhaps affected by Dementia. As a disease, Dementia as yet does not have any curative treatment. Our Services Includes:

Personal Care:

o Assistance in toileting
o Bathing the client
o Brushing teeth
o Shaving
o Nail cutting
o Dressing/Undressing
o Hair brushing
o Moving with manual support
o Lifting from bed to chair
o Lifting from bed/chair to toilet
o Placing upon the bed
o Support in walking
o Feeding

Domestic Care: (strictly for the clients, not for other family members)

o Cleaning bathroom & toilet
o Cleaning & washing dishes
o Neatly arrange the bed
o Changing bed sheets & clothes
